Daily whine & Shine - Tuesday,
June 2, 2009
by Marilyn Mackenzie
Whether you agree with the concept or not, everyone needs to be able to vent from time to time. That's especially true if you're one of the many who suffer from an invisible illness. We have whines and rants about pains, medical professionals and prescriptions, just to name a few. Perhaps our families listen; perhaps they don't. Even if they do, they get tired of our complaining, even if they claim to understand our struggles. Or if they don't get tired of our "negative energy" we think they do or will.
Do you need to rant about something? Tell us about it.
Do you have some celebration or victory you need to share? This is the place.
What's happening in your world today? Are you grumpy about somiething? Or so angry you could spit? Tell it here. Here at the Daily Whine & Shine, it's acceptable to rant, vent, complain, stomp your feet, throw a tantrum, and shout, "Oh shuckie darn!"
Wait! Don't go away! Do you have some good news to share? Great. This is the place for that as well. If you're celebrating, dancing, and yelling, "Yippee Skippy!" please share. Sometimes knowing about someone else's happiness gives us a bit of hope for ourselves.
Whether you're shouting, "Oh shuckie darn!" or yelling, "Yippee skippy!" - this is the place to be. Pulll up a rocking chair, and let's talk about it.
Now, let's celebrate!!!

Happy Tuesday! Happy National Bubba Day, National Rocky Road Day, Leave the Office Early Day, and Yell "Fudge" at the Cobras in North America Day.
Good day Marilyn, It is a beautiful day in the neighborhood today! Have a wonderful one.
So are we singing?
It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood,
A beautiful day for a neighbor,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
It's a neighborly day in this beautywood,
A neighborly day for a beauty,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you,
I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.
So let's make the most of this beautiful day,
Since we're together, we might as well say,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?
Won't you please,
Won't you please,
Please won't you be my neighbor?
Awesome!! Thanks for sharing! Hope you have a lovely day!
Thanks, Ariel. You too!
Sadly both my bank accounts were breached. I inadvertly had my second account as a backup for the first with PayPal!! My bank is handling it and all the accounts are closed. ((sigh)) it is so annoying but doable.
Oh Danielle, that's so horrible.
Much better today Marilyn! Sorry Danielle!
Glad today is a better day, Deb.
Great posts... what do you get for the person that is celebrating Leaving Work Early day?
Great question, Kerrell. Hmmm. The want ads in case they need a new job?
Hope you feel better soon!!
True.
No whines today. So far so good!
Come back if you find a whine. :)
Thank you Marilyn!
I'm on some new meds for depression and anxiety. One seems to be giving me headaches. The other makes me tired. Like I need that...since I alreay have fibro and chronic fatigue. Grrr.
I have a rant that goes along with adopt a shelter cat month. Over the past 17 years (and many before that with other cats) I have adopted a total of 12 rescue cats in need of homes. I have spent thousands of dollars on them for vet bills, lots for foods (often prescription food) and kitty litter and other supplies, and quite a bit for professional grooming. The cats are treated like royalty, are never allowed outside, and any medical problem is promptly cared for. Our many litter boxes are dumped, washed, and refilled once a day and sometimes twice a day. Now my rant!!! There are about 3 of the cats that pee on throw rugs instead of in the litter box--GRRRR.. I have to wash the kitchen and bathroom throw rugs every single day and also wash the floors with a good disinfectant daily. One neutered male cat likes to spray on my closet doors, on the side of my TV cabinet, on my printer, and behind my desk--GRRRR. I spent nearly $700 on him in vet bills not long ago and he does not have a medical problem that causes the spraying. The other day, one male cat was going to poop in the large pan of food I put out for the cats! Luckily, he was caught in time to stop him. Now maybe 12 cats is an overload for our house, which could be part of the problem. But I didn't set out to get 12 cats. I got 3 cats from the Humane Society and the other 9 were "donated" to me so they wouldn't end up being taken to the pound or a kill shelter where they probably wouldn't have lived long. I took them to save their lives. So, couldn't they reward my love and care by not making my house smell like a sewer???!!!???!!! That's not even mentioning things like them eating my plants, both real and fake, tearing up rugs and furniture before they were declawed, and stealing food off my plate when I go to answer the phone. Oh, and opening their bags of cat food from the bottom when its already open at the top. I used to love cats! Well, I still do but I wish I could send them to camp for the summer while I take a break. Dogs are much less trouble and mess (except in mud season) and more fun too. Just a rant......sorry folks..... (And if there is someone in our area who wants a spayed/neutered/vaccinated/declawed cat and would give it a fantastic indoor home, I could possibly be convinced to rehome a cat or two.)
I'd take one but we have 3 already. I just rescued one over Christmas. I have a dog too. Too much for me as it is. Good luck to you Janet. I'll keep my ears out for anyone looking for a cat though.
