Cheney: Execute Terrorists If Cuba Prison Must Close
Former Vice President Dick Cheney said Monday that the only alternative to holding some suspected terrorists indefinitely would be to execute them, arguing against the Obama administration's plans to close the Guantanamo detainee prison.
"If you're going to be engaged in a world conflict such as we are, such as the global war on terrorism, if you don't have a place where you can hold these people, your only other option is to kill them," Mr. Cheney said.

So now we are to execute people because we suspect that they might be terrorists?
Why do I have the feeling that this man has no respect at all for the rule of law or democracy or any of our freedoms? If we do not reject such thinking very loudly and obviously, they will one day be executing us because we might be working to undermine the government. The rights you deny others will one day be denied you.

Because the full quote of what Cheney said is:

He was explaining that, if Gitmo had not been set up, then the only alternative would have been to execute the prisoners. And he further explained that, since killing them was NOT an option, they set up Gitmo instead........
put them in the super maxes, Montana already has said they'll take them. try them first.
I agree that Cheney is nuts and trying to rewrite his and Bush's mistakes so they are in a better light.
Why won't he just GO AWAY? We don't hear a word out of him for 8 years, except that he declared himself a government branch beholden to no one. NOW he won't shut up?
