People ask me why I write about news and politics when I know it's contrary. Even my own daughter has scolded me for this. I recently lost a very dear friend, or someone I thought was my friend, because he accused me of writing article just for sensationalism. He's a poet, and my daughter a Christian. Let their be peace for blessed are the peace makers.
However, I am passionate about what I believe, and I would rather fight it out in a civil debate with those who agree and disagree with me all day than converse with a recipe copy cat bore, or one who shoves overworked poems on the site and fills up my email box with requests to read his or her dribble.
I have written on this before, but I find, that I actually have more left leaning friends than right. I dislike what they preach, but I love their fervor.
I love my fervor. I love people. All colors and all beliefs. God will take care of sorting out who is right and who is wrong. I just like to debate with thinkers not agree-rs.
Again, write your recipes, and stay away from gossip, and beware the poodle pushing policticos of Gather, but leave me to my joy.
What brought this on?
A sweet fellow Gather wrote me thinking I had deleted his somewhat rude comment, and I let him know I don't delete comments. I think that's for losers who are afraid of differences of opinion. I don't think most of what I write will change anyone's mind, but at least they might think about another side.

I like debating politics. Nothing offends me but certain people are incapable of hearing points of view contrary to theirs without being offended. I really enjoy getting under their skin tee-hee.

I think that you hit the nail on the head by saying that you love the fervor. I have a lot of opinions, Art calls me down right opinionated. I just choose not to air them very much here. I get too riled up and that negative energy just has no where to go in my lifestyle. The other thing is that, like you, I have found most Gatherites are stinkin' whiny liberals. Trying to push some reason on them is like trying to raise the dead, it ain't gonna happen. I am not going to change their mind and they sure as heck are not going to change mine.However, I enjoy watching you all go at it.
The more I lurk, the more I learn about people and how they come to the beliefs that they have. Understanding what makes you you (and Joe Smith, Joe Smith, etc.), is what makes me happy.

Mom...chill out...take a deep breath...you are going to be fine...no need to stir up trouble though you have always thrived on it. By the way, I am "the one" you are referring to! I agree with CyberGwen. I do not like all the negativity. It makes me grumpy and gets me down which I am not interested in! You should try avoided the momma dramas every once in a blue moon.
Well when people really don't understand why they beleive what they claim to, they will be wishy washy because they will be swayed by every other influence around them. I don't understand why anyone would believe anything in the first place if they didn't know why.
