Daily Whine & Shine - Monday, June 1, 2009
by Marilyn Mackenzie
Whether you agree with the concept or not, everyone needs to be able to vent from time to time. That's especially true if you're one of the many who suffer from an invisible illness. We have whines and rants about pains, medical professionals and prescriptions, just to name a few. Perhaps our families listen; perhaps they don't. Even if they do, they get tired of our complaining, even if they claim to understand our struggles. Or if they don't get tired of our "negative energy" we think they do or will.
Do you need to rant about something? Tell us about it.
Do you have some celebration or victory you need to share? This is the place.
What's happening in your world today? Are you grumpy about somiething? Or so angry you could spit? Tell it here. Here at the Daily Whine & Shine, it's acceptable to rant, vent, complain, stomp your feet, throw a tantrum, and shout, "Oh shuckie darn!"
Wait! Don't go away! Do you have some good news to share? Great. This is the place for that as well. If you're celebrating, dancing, and yelling, "Yippee Skippy!" please share. Sometimes knowing about someone else's happiness gives us a bit of hope for ourselves.
Whether you're shouting, "Oh shuckie darn!" or yelling, "Yippee skippy!" - this is the place to be. Pulll up a rocking chair, and let's talk about it.
Now, let's celebrate!!!

Happy Monday! Happy June 1! Happy Dare Day, National Go Barefoot Day, and Flip a Coin Day!
I dare you to go barefoot today!
Sorry to whine...but I just feel so sad and depressed today!!! I cry about every few minutes! I have bipolar and I am in the crash into depression about the last 4 days! What agony!!!
I'm sorry, Deb. What can we do to help?
Just went to the dr. and was actually hoping for a kidney infection, or bladder infection.....sounds weird huh??? Well, my alternative, which is what it is turning out to be is more surgery for a hernia that has been repaired 3 times already and I had MRSA once along with it. Go figure. That old saying "if it weren't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any" I guess holds true for me. But I guess things could be alot worse. Jusr when I start to feel sorry for myself, I look around and realize how fortunate I really am that I can still work and go on my own. I would not like depending on someone else for everything at all. For now,I will hold my head up and smile to make people wonder what the hell I'm up to now........
Gee, Joyce, that stinks. Love your attitude, though.
Hi Marilyn!!! How are you feeling today? Totally recovered from that LONG walk in the cemetary? I had a beautiful weekend, but I am sorely paying for it. Feels like the entire right side of my back is frozen up in pain. And my legs are killing me from all the uneven ground at the farm! However, I love being outdoors and doing these things so I am trying not to complain too much! {{HUGS}}
That uneven ground really messes you up, doesn't it? That's why the cemetary tour was so painful for me and hubby. I'm not wonderful today. I woke with a new back pain this morning, and I knew that it meant some urinary/kidney problems. Guess I'd better start drinking cranberry juice.
Oh no :-( {{{HUGS}}} That sounds terrible Marilyn. I am feeling a bit better now that I've been moving around a little. The doc said that is good because it means its muscles and not joints. Ok but it still hurts lol. I can totally see why the cemetary trip was so painful to you! My knees took quite a shock with all that uneven ground. And tonight I am headed back for more punishment lol! Feel better Marilyn, I am saying a prayer for you right now!
Whine: We are broke again and the stupid college won't send our money until the begining of July - I am starting to feel really depressed and it is affecting home life. Not good when I am a stay at home mommy who just wants to curl up in bed and have a good cry....all day! I just feel so hopeless.
Shine: My family is healthy, we have a landlord that so far is being understanding and hopefully by the end of the week we will know if the church I called is willing to help us with our past due utilities. Our baby is healthy and growing strong - I am starting to feel some movements - although they are not as often as when I was pregnant with my son at this point. Hopefully that just means she is going to be laid back ;0)
Hi Cyndi. I'm sorry you're depressed. Is it hormones because of the baby...and stress because of the money situation?
Being healthy is a blessing, especially in these times.
I think it could be a combo this time. This pregnancy is just so different from my first. With my son I was super happy the whole time - even while we were having a horrible time financially. This time everything is bringing me down. I was so sad today that I've cried a few times - at the drop of a hat. I am trying to stay happy for my son but it is really hard.
Hi, Marilyn.....
Nothin' to whine about....
Just wishin' you a wonderful day!!!
Thanks Berf! Glad you stopped by. Always nice to see you.
Thank you!
June 16, 1958 I joined the Air Force and to this day those years remain a highpoint in my life. i am proud to have served my country.
Considering the alternative, T. G. I. A., thank G-d it is Monday again.
Hi, David. Great day to remember. I'm proud of you for serving as well. Thank you!
Happy happy Monday Marilyn.........
I like your quotes yopu shared here today.....
I ain't gonna whine, won't help me......LOL
thanks for the June calendar........
Hi Randee. Glad you popped in. If you ever do need to whine, you know where to come. :)
I did not know so much about June! Thank you :)
Lots in June. And I bet I forgot to mention that it's the biggest wedding month, didn't I?
International Men's Month
teehee I'll celebrate that any month!
Hmmm. Methinks you're too eager. :)
hi!!
nothing to whine about, shine~ i am well enough to gather for more htan 5 minutes today!! yippie:)
Another good attitude!
No barefooting for me anymore. My precious toes. LOL
I just hate that identity theft is so ramp id these days. I got taken this weekend by a thief on Paypal. Thank goodness I was able to transfer my bill money out and into another account. That checking account is now -$3000 and counting. Paypal reacted fast and so did my credit card company. The refunds are rolling in but it's been very aggravating!! Thanks for letting me whine.
Gee, Danielle, you're the second person here on Gather I've seen this week that has had PayPal trouble. We used to think it was so secure.
I've had that account 8 years and never had a problem. I don't know how it was breached. It does suck though. Imagine if I didn't get the money out? I try to look at the bright side. It could have been much worse. God is good.
Yes! God is good....all the time!
My celebration is God is good
Amen, Lora!
Hello, hello!
Huggssss and a special box of extra-soft comfy tissues to those in tears today...
Hugs and hip, hip, hooray to those getting their groove on this fine afternoon!
While the twinges and twangs of arthritis and myasthenia gravis keep me lovin' them pills and celebrating naptime... special joy for some problems solved today and a great big bunch of time with my kids home for summer vacation (I know, I know... we'll see how I feel about that in a few weeks...lol!).
Hi Michelle. Cherish the time with the kids. All too soon, they grow up.
Should I be happy or sad!! I choose happy. This morning I opened the newspaper to check my Fantasy Five Numbers and I got 4 out of 5 correct. It paid about $112. I have two tickets so double that.
I was very close on the 5th number (only 4 numbers off). If that 5th number was correct, it paid over $88,000. Remember, I had 2 tickets on it.
But I am very happy and thankful to get the money that I won. Maybe another day will be luckier, but I am still richer than I was when I woke up. Hurrah!!
I would be happy about that. :)
Are all flys not flithy?
On the 5th you get free donuts at both Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme...
Thanks for having this
