(The other parts of this series say the same thing. So if you've read it on another part, you can skip straight down to the photos.)
I was unsure of how I was going to do this, but since there were so many fantastic photos from the River Rampage I decided to divide it up into categories: The Scenery, The People, and The Wildlife (although the last two categories can overlap…that was a JOKE, people).
The River Rampage started out innocently enough. It was a celebration for my sister, Kay, and our Dad. They share the same birthday and it is much more fun to combine the celebration. There aren’t too many that can say they share a sister-father birthday. So with the party planned, I sent out these invites:
You're invited to attend the birthday party of the year (hehehe). Please be aware there will be NO dumping in the river this year....(well sure you can tip over kayaks <mom> or fall out of boats, but please don't crap in the river ahahahahahaha). Anyway, here's the information:
Needless, to say we had a blast. The people we met in passing along the river were very nice. Everyone spoke in passing, whether it was a single word of greeting or sharing a joke, story, or asking a question. It was fun to just people watch. Here are some of those people:

In between meeting and greeting folks, here are some of the other things we did:

After spending time boating and on "dry" land...it was finally time to cool off a bit in the refreshing water of the Wakulla River. Sometimes you just gotta get wet.

Even Boss wasn't going to be left out of the fun.

And at the end of the day, when we have to part and go our separate ways...we take with us the memories, love, and laughter we were able to share. So long for now...

Great pictures.
Jennifer, thank you!
Wish that I could have been there. How fun!
You could certainly have joined in the fun, Granny. Thanks for stopping by.
Nice shots...wish I was there with my 'yak!'
Hi ya, Doc! Thanks for stopping by to take a look and leave a comment. If you show up with your yak, we will certainly take a trip up the river. You will be more than welcomed.
This looks like such a blast! I had to look up the location, as it looks like an amazing place, but it is quite far away from us.
I assume there were no dangers of alligators????
It is a great place and if you are ever this way, I suggest you go to the Park they have on the river. There's an inn and all there where you can catch some shuteye after you spend the day on the glass bottom boat, swimming, canoeing (or kayaking) etc, etc. That is also the place where a couple of the Tarzan movies were filmed (as well as some other movies). You can visit the park link here: Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park
There are gators there, but they tend to stay away from the people traffic :) Of course, you always want to look before you leap ;)
Or keep your Hanzo steel handy...
hehehe...Yes, that helps too. We went back this past weekend and had to chase a gator away from "our" swimming area. Although I don't think he would have bothered us, I didn't want to find out.
BTW I love that photo of the little boy jumping in the air. Perfect timing!
He has no fear :) Did you see the photo that looked like he was surfing? He was just going into the water when I clicked that one.
Your shots remind me our Guadalupe River! Glad you had a blast with your family.
Thank you, Janie. It was lots of fun. I will have to look up that river.
We haven't been there in a while, but it's beautiful!
Maybe you could go and share the photos with us. I'll still google it though. I enjoy learning of new places.
If we make it down there this summer, I'll be sure to take plenty of shots!
Please let me know if you post them here, Janie (so I can check 'em out).
Sure thing!!
Fabulous photo essay! Looks like you had a GREAT time celebrating your dad and sister! Happy Birthday to both of them!
Thank you, Linda, for the comment and birthday wishes. I know they both will appreciate that. Happy Tuesday!
Well, it certainly looks like everyone had a wonderful time. What a great place to celebrate a birthday!
Thanks so much for posting to my group.
Nana, it was fun and the river is always a good place. I like this river because of the clarity of it. It is crystal clear....beautiful water.
Lovely pictures, looks like the Weeki Wachi springs and river close to where we live.
Jai, thank you. I have never heard of that place. I will have to google it and check it out. Thanks for stopping by here. Happy Tuesday to you.
Smiles smiles,...everywhere! Looks like it's a great place to have fun...
We like to smile, Katherine :)
:-)
Jerry, thanks for the smile :) Happy Tuesday to you.
We all had so much fun! The river is a great place for get togethers--Thanks for the birthday wishes from everyone...Ren, I will call about sharing the photo of the dismount of the kayak LOL Love you!
ahahahaha! You know I had to. It wasn't a problem, you just have a different way of getting out than I do....ahahaha. Love ya!
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, I am working on the dismount ...hahahaha. These pictures are great and again I am having trouble picking out a favorite. The ones of the kids are especially great. They are all so photogenic (is that how you spell it?)
Kay, when I do your CD do you want the scenery (including wildlife) and the people all on one?
If it will fit on one CD then yes that will be fine. Thanks! :)
Will do. Some of the "multiple" shots...one right after another (in the album on the other site) on the action shots won't be on there. I'll pick the best from those.
All three essays were great! Thanks for posting this to River Magic
