(The other parts of this series say the same thing. So if you've read it on another part, you can skip straight down to the photos.)
I was unsure of how I was going to do this, but since there were so many fantastic photos from the River Rampage I decided to divide it up into categories: The Scenery, The People, and The Wildlife (although the last two categories can overlap…that was a JOKE, people).
The River Rampage started out innocently enough. It was a celebration for my sister, Kay, and our Dad. They share the same birthday and it is much more fun to combine the celebration. There aren’t too many that can say they share a sister-father birthday. So with the party planned, I sent out these invites:
You're invited to attend the birthday party of the year (hehehe). Please be aware there will be NO dumping in the river this year....(well sure you can tip over kayaks <mom> or fall out of boats, but please don't crap in the river ahahahahahaha). Anyway, here's the information:
Needless, to say we had a blast. Now come look at the wildlife I captured.

This guy was busy drying his wings.

Far up, we spotted this HUGE nest and I would have loved to been able to get up there and take a look inside.

Nearby, this guy was keeping watch and when someone would venture too close to the nest....he would make enough noise to run the bravest away. Not to mention, those talons were enough to keep me away. However, he is one majestic bird!

This guy was lurking around and was just too camera shy to give me a full body shot. He wasn't very big, so I'm sure his mom was not too far away. I just didn't get a chance to capture her.

My sister and I decided to kayak down a little passage and we were lucky enough to see these little guys. Aren't they adorable?

What you do not see here, but will surely see if you ever decide to go to the Wakulla River, is turtles, manatee, more species of birds, snakes, and all kinds of fish.

You did get some wonderful photos of the wildlife. I will say what I have said all along, "Get these out to magazines, sell some of them!" Thanks for sharing your weekend with us. We love you!
You need to run to the state park for me and see if they will allow me to put some in there. They turned out awesome, didn't they. Love you guys too.
Okay, that is a great idea. I will go down there for you next week. My schedule the rest of this week is hectic :( All of these turned out fantastic. The one of the osprey guarding his nest is gorgeous...but I am having trouble picking out a favorite :)
I know it was hard for me to pick the one I like best too, that's why so many are on here. BTW, take your time with the other...no rush. I know how it is when things get hectic.
You've got some really great pictures!
Thanks, Dorothy.

Quinn, I'm so glad you enjoyed these. It was a lot of fun to be out there and be "one" with nature. This is a beautiful place and very relaxing, not only that but it is in more or less its natural state.

Stunning photos, what a beautiful place!
Carol, thank you. I was very, very pleased with how these photos come out.
Beautiful wildlife photos
Thank you, Kay!
Those birds are beautiful, and I, too would not want to get too close to any of them, they might just take it personal.
I enjoy spending time on this river simply because of the wonderful wildlife to be found. I bet those birds would do more than "get your attention" if you got too close too.
Renda, congratulations on your ANY PHOTO ART win with this photo essay.
Thank you, Phil.
Your photo won in the group Any Photo Art ~ Photo Art Gallery/Artistic Descriptions
