(The other parts of this series say the same thing. So if you've read it on another part, you can skip straight down to the photos.)
I was unsure of how I was going to do this, but since there were so many fantastic photos from the River Rampage I decided to divide it up into categories: The Scenery, The People, and The Wildlife (although the last two categories can overlap…that was a JOKE, people).
The River Rampage started out innocently enough. It was a celebration for my sister, Kay, and our Dad. They share the same birthday and it is much more fun to combine the celebration. There aren’t too many that can say they share a sister-father birthday. So with the party planned, I sent out these invites:
You're invited to attend the birthday party of the year (hehehe). Please be aware there will be NO dumping in the river this year....(well sure you can tip over kayaks <mom> or fall out of boats, but please don't crap in the river ahahahahahaha). Anyway, here's the information:

River Rampage
Party in honor of: Dad and Kay (Happy Birthday to you both)
Day: Saturday, May 30
Where: The riverhouse (call me for directions if you need them)
Time: Show up whenever you want.
Bring your swimsuits....sombreros...sunscreen.....and smiles.
We will have the food cooked between 1 & 2 (fast time <EST for those that don't know>).
Needless, to say we had a blast. Now come look at the fantastic scenes we were treated with:
(for anyone interested...there are places here for sale)

Sometimes the mighty take a lick and the remnants still stand

and sometimes they fall.

Sometimes, man provides a little help to nature

And sometimes, mankind's help is just not needed.

This docked begged for its picture to be shot. Doesn't it look like you could take those steps on down below the water's surface?

Some of the best gifts in life come from the natural creations around us and can not be found in stores.

Thank you, Granny! I am honored.
Thank you for posting to Any Photo Art ~ June Competition
Thanks for having the group, Denise, and for stopping by here to take a look at this.
Ha! I love your disclaimer! -- I find such depth of nature's character in this section of your series, and am particularly enjoying the great water reflections. I've featured this one in my Water, Water and more Water group.
Thank you, Tanya. I am honored! That disclaimer is now my "signature" on my emails. My sister said she was going to start using it too. My stepmother asked me where all this (the invitation and disclaimer) came from....I told her it must be in the air or something. She told me to "blame it on the rain".... hehehehe.
Beautiful photo essay, Mother Nature sure knows how to do it up right! I'll be featuring both of your photo essays in the group. Places like this are priceless, especially when someone with a camera shares these wonders.
Thanks so much for posting to my group.
Nana, I am honored for the features. Thank you so much. You are right about these places being priceless...they are, indeed. I am just glad there are spots like this still around :)
Beautiful photos!
Thanks, Marianne.
Nature is truly an artist within her own right.
Wonderful photos, delighful party invitation...I'm glad you all could get together to celebrate
Thank you so much. I am thankful when we can get together. I wish all the family could have made it, but they could not. Regardless, the missing ones got a link to all the pictures so they can enjoy a part of it.
You're so right...nature is truly an artist.
Beautful scenery shots. I especially love the one that has the bird flying close to the water.
Thank you for posting your photo essay at Pretty Pictures.
Kat, that is one of my favorite shots too. It's breathtaking.

It was lots of fun :) Thank you, Arlene.
My father would love that drift wood. He makes artsy things with it.
Isn't the driftwood amazing? I love seeing what others create from it too. I bet your father is very creative with it.
He used to make some pretty interesting wall murals with it.
I bet it is neat! Do you have any photos?
I'm afraid I don't, and I don't and I don't have mine anymore. I gave it to my sister and don't know what she did with it.
Awww....I would have liked to see them.
Gorgeous shots... the twisted wood is my favorite.
Thank you, Tammy. Isn't that fantastic art from Mother Nature?
Oooh, beautiful photos. That dock is so neat! And the fallen trees... awesome.
Tory, thank you. There's a lot of art out there :)

Thanks Kay.
I do love these photos very very much........
Kathryn, good to see you here. I'm glad you stopped by and enjoyed the photos. Hope all is well for you and your move went well.
Looks like a good place to get wet.
It is, Vern. Although the sun has to be out in full force and it has to be warm outside before I even attempt getting in this river. It is spring fed and stays around 68 degrees year round. Though refreshing, it tends to make you sharply inhale during the first plunge :)
