yes it does depend on the secret.

I have secrets that I share with my husband that no one else needs to know about.  Other things that I've been told are not about me and I've probably forgotten them anyway, so they truely are secret.

But to be really honest, I'm sitting here thinking.  And I don't believe I have any secrets from my  husband.  There are thing I may not have told him, but it's only because stuff hasn't come up not that I'm actually keeping them from him.

I don't like being committed to a secret... but my husband and I have things that are private and we like to keep them that way.  Those might be considered secret.

I'd agree with Tony on what type of secret.  Any secret that would involve serious harm to another individual, such as a criminal offense, shouldn't be kept.

As to other secrets, I like to think I have a high sense of honor and integrity.  Revealing secrets have nothing to do with those characteristics.

Why?  Do you know any you want to share?  ;)

I can/will keep secrets and would carry them to my grave.......I am totally dependable/reliable and would never, ever "gossip" about secrets to anyone else......I think that's absolutely terrible and violates people's trust. 

I can keep a secret from everyone but my husband.  There are no secrets between us and we've come to know each other so well, that we always know when the other has something on their mind or to say. From everyone else, YES, and I'll keep it till the end.

Yep, Dan!  Joyce and I own a CSI:PIX business.  We can go through the whole lot of them and not only tell you who it is in the pics, but who has handled them AND identify any bodily fluids!  :)

I don't have a whole lot of secrets.

It depends on what the secret was, who it involved and the consequences of the secret itself.  I don't like to play B. S. games and get caught up in other people's drama...and I'm too quick to tell it like it is when someone doesn't really want to hear the truth.  I can keep my mouth shut on some things...others; I don't even want to know!

Other peoples secrets, sure no problem.  My own, not a chance.  I tend to live out loud.  I blame Tequila for making me talk.  But I blame tequila for making me do dumb stuff that I need to keep secret.

 Funny you asked this now, ester... I had a late night phone call two nights ago from a relative. She had asked me to pray for a loved one a couple of months ago, and said she could not give the details. Sooo, all this time, I am adding "and dear lord, please keep my sister's loved ones safe"....and was ok with not knowing. the phone call was THREE hours of her unloading about the person and  why prayer was needed. I said twice:"But you don't have to share this, you know"....and she kept going and going...
I will keep the secret to my grave, but Really, I didn't NEED to know!!!!!!!! I can keep secrets, I do keep them, but sometimes wish I did not know them in the first place.........

MAYBE AFTER THE PERSON DIED I MIGHT TELL. MY AUNT KEPT A SECRET FOR ME UNTIL MY MOTHER DIED. KEPT THE SECRET OF WHO MY  FATHER WAS.;

I don't know, but most secrets that are shared with me are not shared with anyone else.  My husband sometimes does hear stuff that I can't keep in, like who is sleeping with who in our circle of friends (my hubby and I are pretty much on the outside of the circle.  We hang out with some while others we steer clear of).  He likes to know what I'm always talking to friends about, but does NOT like to gossip or share that information with anyone else.

Hmm.  How far will I go to keep a secret?  For me, I would not divulge, unless it would help someone that I wanted to help out, and get straight.  Maybe that doesn't seem right, but it might be the right thing to do.        

I keep a secret for a life time...if it isn't harming anyone.

Only way I wouldn't keep a secret, was if someone was in danger. That is one thing I absolutely can't stand, is to tell someone something personal; then they have to run their mouth and tell someone else- after promising to keep it to themselves. I think it shows a lack of respect for somebody.

If I make a promise not to reveal a secret, I never ever tell.  I pis quite a few people off but that's how i am.
