My editor is almost done with my novel Punk Minneapolis that will come out next year. It's about the wild and crazy adventures of some desperately cool scenesters in the cultural underground of Minneapolis in 1989 - with ghosts and demons (we're pretty sure that's what's going on) oh my (or maybe it's just too much beer). I will be going over that all today, looking for stray mistakes, and dealing with helpful editorial comments. My editor Shirley Ann Howard is an author, too. She wrote Tales out of School and her sequel to that Tales out of College just came out. She's great at catching grammar mistakes, and asking larger questions of the work so that somebody who reads it might BE ABLE TO FOLLOW THE BLOODY THING !!! ha ha.
Later this summer my novel Merlin's Charge comes out. It's my wallow in Arthurian Legend. I love Arthurian Legend !!! Shirley Ann Howard edited that one, too, so she's used to me by now ... a bit. he he.
Later THIS MONTH a children's book comes out that I did the illustrations for, Tedoul. That's the name of a teddy bear. It's all in rhyme so adults who want a cute distraction would enjoy it too.
Here, Tedoul is in a wombat hole calmly waiting out a brush fire that is burning Australia, overhead.

i would love to write a child's book but i can't get past, you pee, i pee, we all pee in the potty or we don't get ice cream later on like mommy said we would if we acted right and stopped acting bad or santa claus won't come visit is. lol! couldn't resist

These days (and my list includes next year's work, too) my publisher has me busy busy busy with art department projects (book covers mostly).
I'm also doing dolphins and children pics now for another children's book by the same Australian author, for next year. Teddy bears and wombats were easier !!! Fantasy is always easier. It might take longer, but it WILL be more fascinating to look at !!!
I DO have several of my own children's books that I wrote, but I haven't been able to get those published. Usually when you get a children's story published your publisher decides the illustrator (unless you do your own art, if that is approved).

You get to tell Peter whatever you want for a cover, and he'll do it... over and over again as many times as you want. It also helps if you take a hundred and one pictures and give him something to work with.
Actually, he got all excited about the possibility of taking photos in a cemetery, so this oughta be pretty easy for me. But I knoooow he will turn out a beautiful cover.
