Bastard and I finally made our much anticipated return to Brasil. This time we headed for Salvador. It is someplace south of the Amazon and North of Rio. I guess that makes it Central Brasil.
Bad timing. Even though seasons are reversed and this Fall for them all that means is 70's and 80's not 90's and 110's. The thing we didn't account for was rain. They have a rainy season but it is usually over by April. Well not this year. It rained. It rained every day all day. It had been raining for two months straight. The only part of the city we saw was on the ride from the airport to the hotel. Roadways were starting to crumble and surviving the taxi ride was only because of the drivers' skill. No place was fully staffed because people couldn't get to work. Some of the restaurants and nightclubs had to close. So no beautiful half naked women tanning on the beach, No handsome men playing volleyball in the sand, just rain.
We didn't get a chance to explore the city or see any magnificent vistas. Supposedly Salvador is on the Atlantic Ocean but you can't prove it by me. All we saw was, you guessed it, rain. So we pretty much stayed in the hotel, drank cerveza and ate buffet because the hotel couldn't supply much of the menu. We understood. They were in survival mode, not hospitality mode. Don't get me wrong, the people were nice. They went out of their way to be nice. But it is hard to provide fresh seafood when nobody is fishing because of the rain.
We did not get to look at houses in the area or building lots either. But we will be back in the fall. So the move is delayed.

Bummer, bummer. Years ago, I spent a week in Hawaii and it rained every day. The weather pretty much ruined the vacation.
When the sewers got flooded and were going to back up any minute I was so ready to go.
What a disappointment~rain sucks on vacation
Two weeks in Ireland in June~rained every f****** day, EVERY day. I couldn't wait to get off the meerald isle and find my solace in sunny Paris.
HI HARPER!!!!!!! =D *you called him Bastard, again ;)*
Sunny Paris sounds nice, We should have gone back to Rio, but no he had to see this beach property. No wonder it was so cheap. Its probably under water by now.
Oops on the Bastard, Purr. Old habits. :)
