My weight today: still 155.
I woke up this morning and got some laundry out of the washing machine to hang dry, logged onto the computer then made myself a pitcher of Crystal Light Lemonade. I didn't even have to think about it, it has almost become a normal part of my routine. I've already had my first glass and I'm ready for more.
For the last few weeks I've been waking up around 7:30-8am to walk over to the grocery store to pick up the Sunday paper and a few breakfast items. Today I overslept so I won't get my nice quiet walk today, which really disappoints me. I was also going to take that time to really study the different beverages to mix with water. The last time I tried my kids were all over the place and I couldn't pay attention to both so my kids won that round. They are not the best shopping companions, but I rarely have anyone to watch them for me. Hopefully I can still do it today. I'm also planning on going swimming at Jason's grandparents' house if the weather permits, which it looks like it might. They have really gross water (taste) so I need to be sure to bring along some Crystal Light if I want to stay hydrated!!
Well, it's now almost 6pm and I've once again lost track of how much water I had to drink but I know it's been more than 8 glasses- go me! Around noon I was able to take a walk over the the store but I had to take the kids with me. They were pretty good and I was able to check out the variety of Crystal Light drinks. But then something happened. At first it was just me but then 3 other people showed up in the aisle wanting to look at the Crystal Light! Who knew it was so popular?! I was really amazed at the options in that store, because it is the one known to have the worst options or everything in the area. But I was also a little overwhelmed by the choices. Crystal Light was on sale for a little over $3 so after standing there for a while looking at the varieties I decided on two to-go boxes. I wanted to look longer but everyone else wanted to too. I decided to try something new this time. I really like the Lemonade and Wild Strawberry but thought I should give some other flavors a try. The first one I chose was Crystal Light Hydration: Berry Splash. This variety contains electrolytes to help hydration. A great choice if you are working out. It's the same stuff that is in Gatorade, and it's a good idea to have something like this if you plan to drink a lot of water at once. I haven't tried this one yet but I plan to when I go to the pool. The other was Crystal Light Skin Essentials: Pomegranate Lemonade. This one contains antioxidant vitamins and plant extracts to help nourish your skin. This particular kind only has 7 packets instead of 10. I tried this and found it to be a little bitter. I then mixed it with the regular CL Lemonade and that made it much better. It tasted what I imagine Cherry/Cranberry Lemonade would taste like. Even though there were only 7 packets it was the same price as the others. I didn't notice until I got home that it didn't have the "10 packets" label like the other boxes did.
The hardest part about drinking water? Nothing really. I am a little concerned that after the challenge is over I will go back to my old habits. Old habits die hard but I'm hoping that since this is a habit I enjoy that I can stick with it. I suggested on another post that maybe we should continue with the challenge ourselves to make sure that we keep our healthy habits. Who's in?

I also love the Raspberry Ice Crystal Light, it's been my fave for years! You know I'm IN! I think the challenge is exactly the motivation I need to keep going!
Sounds fantastic Bridget! That will be the title of today's journal entry.
I saw the Raspberry Ice and everyone keeps saying they really like it, but I had to grab those other two- they looked so COOL!
Alex, it's indeed a good challenge to drink lots of water.
Thanks Rose. It's hard for me to not drink soda, but it's easy to ignore it if I have something else yummy in front of me.
Wow, didn't realize they had so many varieties! When I go to the grocery store, I'll have to check it out - I'll be needing more by then anyway. Way to go on the challenge!!
Stacey, I was totally blown away by the options! I would have looked longer but the crowd was growing too fast. They were on sale at my local store.
There are a lot of flavors! I have tried the blueberry iced tea and it was so good. The only thing I don't like about them is the sweetness. I'd like to have unsweetened ice tea, but I guess that does not work!
Blueberry Iced Tea...hmm. Not sure if I'd like that or not but it sounds interesting. I don't like peach tea. I have to water them down for them to not taste so sweet. But that stretches my savings on them too :)
