Robert and I took a short ride up the Pyeatte Draw road today. This road is just outside of the Payson, Arizona area. We haven't had much of a chance to take the quads out lately so today was a nice day to give them a run.
I love being out in the pine trees and listening to the sounds of nature. Here are a few pictures that I took today. If you watch the clouds in the shots you can see the monsoon type storm starting to build. We never did get any rain but at least the breeze cooled things off a bit.
It's almost time to get out there and get my lightning shots!!!

Looks like fun and you got some great shots!
Thank you Jeanna.
Very nice Toni, I can almost smell the pine needles. (Well, not really, but it seemed like a nice thing to say.) Anyhow, I really like the trees, and would like to be able to smell the pine needles for myself. Some day.....
Hey Vern. The smell of the pine needles is nice but have you ever smelled the bark of the pine tree? Seriously, if you smell deep inside the bark (yes, in the crack, lol) it smells like vanilla or chocolate.
I think it has to be a Ponderosa Pine.
I can just picture Vern out sniffing the trees......lol.
Based on Toni's comment above, I think that would make him a crackhead.
Lol Tanya!
Vern, maybe we should sneak away in your orange spaceship and go sniff the pine needles together :)
Right, Karen. I'm not sure I want to be a crackhead, or get my head in a crack, alone!
I love the woodsy photos and the clouds are heavenly
Thank you Sunaura. I loved being out in it after being cooped up in the house for too long.
Wonderfully scenic and it looks relaxing.
Thank you Shells. We had a great time.
Who's the dude on the ATV? Is he your trail chef? Does he make good stew and use cactus as a pleasant tasting vegetable. I guess he is also your butler and when someone cleans the bathtub and you say, 'Who done It?, it is of course your Butler. Does he also mow your lush green lawn? '
LOL, William. Oh boy, wouldn't all that be sooooo nice. He does make a good breakfast at the property though.
Toni, bottle the scent of that pine and sell it. You'll get rich and can buy me a home up there and my own quad!!
Did Robert do some target shooting? I see he has his gun.
I wish I could bottle it up Mom. It would sell nicely on Ebay. LOL.
Robert is now packing all the time. He traded Marie's youth rifle for that pistol. He likes it. He's supposed to go get his concealed weapons license sometime soon.
What kind of wild animals are around there that he has to take a gun? If I saw a snake well I would use it on that LOL
LOL, Deneen. Yes, there are snakes here, rattlesnakes are the most worrysome but they'll leave you alone if you leave them alone for the most part anyway. There are also bear, mountain lion, bobcat, things like that.
I love seeing the trees, too. I took some pictures of the cloud buildups today, too. You were a whole lot closer to them than I was:)
I got to feel the rumble of the thunder. I love it!
what a wonderful outing
Thank you Altair.
I particularly liked the trees and the cloud pictures, they were lovely.
Well glad you don't go along for your rides, and I guess I would carry that too if there is all that to worry about out there. But what a pretty outting that was, very peaceful I'm sure...
looks like beautiful place. really nice pictures. I enjoyed them.. thanks!!
Beautiful Place
Can I go with you next time?
Nice photos from your ride.
Nice pictures Toni. I see those clouds, I wonder if the Monsoons will come early this year. Maybe we will have a "real" season this year, LOL... they seem so weak in recent years, at least to me down here.
I need to get up to the RIM...ahhhhhh! ;-)
Thanks.
great shots!
These views are spectacular, looks like a wonderful way to get and enjoy the day. That sky shot is awesome.
Awesome Toni, I love taking rides and spending time on and around the Rim, love the pics
neat pictures take for sharing
nice day for a ride
beautiful area! I'd be a little scared of a monsoon storm!
