So ... if this one bores you, it's all Denise's fault for asking how I'm doing :)
I could just type "I'm fine" ...but somehow I think she was looking for rather more detail than that.
But I am.... fine, that is. A little perturbed at the weight loss thing... had been doing so well but then got into the monthly bloated thing and had a spike ... my weight is back down to where it was before ...but not much lower and that irks me. I'm just impatient.
Congress 2009, the conference I went to last week, was great.... I thoroughly enjoyed it, although I could have done without the slew of emails I received from DH & co (that would be Ross' ex-employers). I kept responding (when I bothered at all) that I was away in Ottawa and they should call or email Ross directly, but they are a little slow on the uptake. Okay, a LOT slow on the uptake - also on paying him, which is just irking me further. Ross is unconcerned about the whole thing... me, I am still majorally pissed.
And SO tempted to post an article or two that includes the text of all of the emails between us so that people can make their own decisions about what happened.
Not only have they not paid him, they have convinced themselves - and are running around shooting their mouths off - that they are entirely blameless in the whole affair. Of course, to do that, they have to completely rewrite not only history - but also the entire body of emails in which THEY put their idiocy in writing. They are trying to ruin Ross' reputation - no doubt because while they are too ******* stOOpid to figure out how to fix any of the issues even when clearly told what they need to do (i.e. stop ORDERING and start ASKING for what they want) - they do apparently have enough brain cells between them to figure out that Cottage Country Pest Control could quickly become a serious competitor to their business.
We have computer & Internet, business, marketing & PR skills they can only dream of. Plus, we are locals, not summer people (aka citiots) - oh yeah ...and we're not stOOpid. We're already kicking their butts for search engine placement - and I'm sure they're going to sh*t a brick next week when we get our new sign up at the store and have a highly visible presence in town, too (might as well, eh?)
So ... as soon as we get the paperwork (license and insurance and all that fun stuff) sorted out ....we'll be off & running.
The business stuff has been sucking up a lot more of my time than it's supposed to be....Tamara is here to work with Ross on that stuff and I'm supposed to be getting my major research paper (MRP) and presentation for Victoria done. It's hard to focus on that stuff right now though...but am trying.
Tomorrow the grandbabies are coming for dinner too ...so that will be another distraction, although an enjoyable one. I have until Saturday to get everything done ...then Andrea & I are off to Victoria BC for a week. And after that, I'll be heading back to Trent for two more weeks of summer school, during which I'll also (hopefully) get some of the archive work done too, and meet with my advisor about my MRP. If all goes according to plan, by the time I get back from Trent, my school work will be all done and I'll have two months to be a slug, fish, read, and do some serious writing. At least that's the plan, anyway.
What else? Oh... haven't done the FDGB thing since April 10... yay me!
Walked lots while in Ottawa but haven't been out this weekend... have done some weeding though... suppose that counts. Not much growing in my garden yet... my beans and sunflowers have sprouted - but my tomato, pepper and brussel sprout plants don't look much bigger than when I planted them.
And Scrooge is doing great and he says hi. He's a little perturbed at being left behind at the moment... Ross & Tamara are out mucking about with dockage in the lake and he apparently thought he would like to go ~help~ and I haven't got off my butt to let him out, poor thing. Plus there are thunders off in the distance and Scrooge does not like thunders.

lots going on in your life, keeps you young!!
p.s. beautiful dog!!
Wow! you guys HAVE been busy,Flit! Good luck on the new business...and the dog is beautiful!
I'm glad you updated us on how you are doing. Scrooge is so cute!! Sounds like the business will be a great success!!
You are going so fast and doing so much. No wonder, when you slow down for a minute you FDGB. I think if you ever get in slow motion. You would spin , round and round and not know where to go. LOL. I all admiration. You take on so much. I really donot know how you handle it all.
maybe I should tell the doctor that LOL
OOps I hope your new business does well.
You are definately keeping yourself busy Flit. I wish I could see the expressions on the other companies's faces when you steal all the business away from them.
thanks for sharing
we won't deliberately go after their business... we're using our video database as a place to start... and getting as much promotional material and online stuff out there as we can
Go, Flit & Ross! Promote like crazy and grab all the business you can.
Oh...and hi, Scrooge!
We've got lots of ideas in the hopper... some of them are stalled while we wait for the darn pieces of paper that we need... but as soon as that comes, we'll be off to the races.
With thunder in the distance, it might be best for Scrooge to stay put inside whether he realizes this or not. I am glad to hear Scrooge is doing well. That's always good to know. I can't get into his blog right now to see what's up with Scrooge, so am very glad you mentioned him here.
Congrats on all the progress, and having a building for the company is great, I think. Makes it seem more established.
Truthfully, it's beginning to sound that you are going to have your work cut out for you this summer, but that could be a good thing. Here's hoping you can keep everything running smoothly.
We probably won't actually set up an office down there quite yet - I'd rather work here, and the plan is that Ross should be out spraying rather than sitting around staffing the store... but we have the signs and windows to work with ...and can do whatever we want with the store... so figured it wouldnt hurt to make use of it.
Besides, Jess' crane is going to look awesome up there!
wow thanks for responding and no an "i'm fine" would not have cut it :)
glad you have not the FDGB thing in a while that makes me feel a whole lot better about your condition - so does that mean the diet is helping?
from the reports of the previous angio and Holtor monitoring, the specialist suspected that serious weight loss would help ... my heart function was "sluggish" and "irregular" .... will still have to sort out WHY my heart function is so poor (and why she hears a murmer) and other health issues that my family doctor chose to ignore....but losing the weight certainly seems a reasonable first step.
And it seems to be making a huge difference - this is the first time in a very long time that I've made it through the PMS time without major FDGB problems. Usually as soon as I start to retain fluids, I have all sorts of problems with angina and FDGB episodes - and incredible exhaustion as well.
This month, I've had NO FDGB, far less angina, and while there is some tiredness (and short periods of feeling like crap) ....it does seem like that 35lbs - and the meds she put me on - have made a lot of difference.
Losing another 65 - and continuing to walk regularly - should help even more, I hope. Can't see how it could hurt :) With luck, my hips will thank me too.
Now if only I could get past the PMS for this month.... I'm doing the perimenopause thing... I often skip a month or two - which just means weeks of the water retention and so on until my body gets round to co-operating.
