While browsing for some outdoor ideas and garden/plant tips, I bumped into this site which which provided 2 interesting results. Maybe you will see something too.
The site LINK provided is not the home page to freeplants.com.
Most all the pages ask you to sign up for the newsletter and get some free stuff. I haven't decided on that issue yet. But on this page, just go to the left hand column and scroll thru the topics provided. Clicking on one will open that subject to read. You don't have to sign up to do this.
On this list was the 2nd point of interest via one of the subjects.
Work At Home - Make Money at Home - Nursery/Plant Business
There is a lot of Gather conversation about work at home ideas, and this one never crossed my mind. It's free to read his disccussion on the topic. And the overall concept sounded quite intriguing for an unusual way to work at home. I'm going to furthur research his presentation, and perhaps search for more on this idea.
Has anyone here ever looked at or tried such a home business?
I'm not really a green thumber, but will be looking into this.
Thanks for stopping today.

Thanks for the info.
You'll need a strong back and a big vehicle for the nursery business - the rest is up to you.
Have a good weekend!
I doubt that, small and simple made it appealing.
I can't imagine doing it without either. What about the heavy bags of soil? You need something to plant in ... and I saw a wonderful informative article here on gather by - Jean, just the teenist bit odd... - who ran a nursery business from her home. It's definitely worth a look - here is the link for ya
I thought about just selling a few plants - you know just the ones that you divide in the spring - from my yard. People do that all the time. I wouldn't call that a business, but it's a few extra bucks you wouldn't have otherwise and therefore always worth a consideration.
I live in a redneck neighborhood and somebody is always selling sumptin'.:)
My link to the idea sounded more appealing than that. There are lots of things to think about.
I've never looked into this, I bet it would be rewarding and if you could under sell the big nurseries it would be a good idea.
not I
I would enjoy having a nursery. I worked at one for 2 years in Texas.
Hmmm, I don't have a big enough yard for this. I do sell some of the plants I have divided up in my yard on ebay and craigslist.
Good information thanks
I love working from home and being my own boss. Growing things is always fun- I'll be interested in hearing what you decide.
It would take lots of learning for me, and experimenting. Right now my best crop is weeds.
I've looked at this idea ,just looked so far.
I have a plant business and in this economy am not having an easy time selling plants. Its hard work and hope you are prepared for long hours at times. Good luck
You just might need a greenhouse to survive in this business. If you really like plants and want to spend a lot of time with them, this might be a good thing to do. I do not know. But a greenhouse sounds like a "must" to me. Did you order the book?
