Weekend Chew & Stew - Saturday, May 30 & Sunday, May 31, 2009
by Marilyn Mackenzie
Whether you agree with the concept or not, everyone needs to be able to vent from time to time. That's especially true if you're one of the many who suffer from an invisible illness. We have whines and rants about pains, medical professionals and prescriptions, just to name a few. Perhaps our families listen; perhaps they don't. Even if they do, they get tired of our complaining, even if they claim to understand our struggles. Or if they don't get tired of our "negative energy" we think they do or will.
Do you need to rant about something? Tell us about it.
Do you have some celebration or victory you need to share? This is the place.
What's happening in your world today? Are you grumpy about somiething? Or so angry you could spit? Tell it here. Here at the Weekend Chew & Stew, it's acceptable to rant, vent, complain, stomp your feet, throw a tantrum, and shout, "Oh shuckie darn!"
Wait! Don't go away! Do you have some good news to share? Great. This is the place for that as well. If you're celebrating, dancing, and yelling, "Yippee Skippy!" please share. Sometimes knowing about someone else's happiness gives us a bit of hope for ourselves.
Whether you're shouting, "Oh shuckie darn!" or yelling, "Yippee skippy!" - this is the place to be. Pulll up a rocking chair, and let's talk about it.
Now, let's celebrate!!!

Food for thought:
A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor and bread it has earned -- this is the sum of good government. - Thomas Jefferson
Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them. - Ronald Reagan
Approximately 80% of our air pollution stems from hydrocarbons released by vegetation, so let's not go overboard in setting and enforcing tough emission standards from man-made sources. - Ronald Reagan
Government's first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives. - Ronald Reagan
Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it. - Ronald Reagan
I've never been able to understand why a Republican contributor is a 'fat cat' and a Democratic contributor of the same amount of money is a 'public-spirited philanthropist'.- Ronald Reagan

Howdy, howdy, howdy. Happy Saturday. I was hoping to see an art show this afternoon, but now I have my doubts. I'll have to near a potty today. Not sure what's going on. More than my IBS, becasue I'm nauseous too.
I hope today is a lot better. Hi Marilyn
hope you don't have the flu! hope you feel better!
I hate puppies and stuck up cats, they just need to deal with each other! Lol
mot sure what we are dong today - in laws might stop by -still not sure
Good Saturday Morning Marilyn!
You are so right we need to vent , our relatives are tired of our aches and pains. ;(
And this is a good place for it...so vent vent vent@!!!!
Well since our move I been trying to catch with all my friends and other comments owed. I was behind before but now I am in a bottomless pit lol
In a fibromyalgia newsletter yesterday, they reported on a study that said, "Our study suggests that anger and a general tendency to inhibit anger predicts heightened pain in the everyday life of female patients with fibromyalgia."
So not showing anger or holding it inside could be making my pains worse? Yikes. I think I need to vent more. :)
The more we vent the healthier we are!! Lets face when mommy/wife not happy No One is!!! ;D
just stopping by to say hi and give you another 10
I have those same pains, just hoping for a med to eventually work to no avail, so somehow I roll out of the bed everyday and just go on with life. I have to work to care for my family.
I wish you luck.
I like your Presidential quotes!! Happy Saturday. No complaints here today. It's a gorgeous sunny day and the kids are swimming while I sit here and watch them and play on the computer. Life is good. My prayers are with all the folks here that need them. Life goes in cycles and I won't be on this "happy wave" very long so I'm enjoying it while I can!! Hugs to you Marilyn and hope you feel better soon. :)
Hi and thank you for giving us the oppurtunity to rant if need be.
Marilyn, sounds like you and I may be in the same "boat". My stomach has been upset since yesterday!! I am just kind of trying to take it easy. My stomach also hurt all night last night! At least Chloe went to stay with my parents for a while today.
Happy Sunday!
What a day we had on Saturday. Yikes. I didn't get up until about 9 a.m., and was back in bed by 2:30. Couldn't keep my eyes open. Then I woke up again about 6:30, in time to see and hear the big storm that came through. Lots of thunder and lightning, rain and hail the size of nickels. There were funnel clouds all around the area too, but I don't think anything touched down. The news didn't have any reports of damage yet when they were on at 11.
I'm exhausted! Yesterday, we went to see my son who is in drug rehab in northeast Arkansas. They were having a huge fair in the park to raise money for the camp. It was called Unity Fest. We ate fish, visited with James and the other guys, bough ice cream sandwiches and then had to eat them fast because it was so hot and they were melting everywhere. We didn't get home until almost 11 p.m. and then the dogs still had to go out.
When they came in, they were ready to play instead of going to bed. I didn't think I was ever going to get them to settle down. Now, Bandit has gone home and Baby is worn out from playing so hard for 4 days. When we keep Bandit for Josh, He and Baby run the entire length of my house and chase each other until they make ME tired just watching them. She is at the foot of my bed and has just literally crashed.
Well, I don't have anything in my life to whine about now; however, I'll try to think of something next time. I'm just glad I have a job and a roof over my head.
Sorry I missed it
