I have decided to turn My pings off

I don't get back to mine either and feel guilty

I have never thought that a ping was something that had to be reciprocated. I ping someone for a variety of reasons and have never felt slighted if they did not respond. As a matter of fact, I do not expect a response.

But I understand what you are feeling, and can appreciate it.

I am thinking of doing the same thing.. I some times dont even go look at my profile here so I have no idea who pings me some days and then im like crap...lol so I think I will turn mine off too

I'm bad about not answering my pings as well, but I've been extremely busy lately, and haven't been able to get on here as much as I'd like.

Hey!  I don't get back either and eventually people quit pinging me.  That's usually what happens.  Things happen and sometimes you just can't get back to people.

Does get hard to keep track of them sometimes

I know you pinged me, and I haven't pinged back, sorry.  I didn't know that we are supposed to ping back.

I don't feel guilty. I never even look at my pings. I should just turn them off.

I don't usually return them either unless some asks a question then I do to answer them. 

I turned mine off too I have a hard enough time catching up on comments without trying to do pings as well and my gather mail can be used so don't feel bad.

Lots have theirs turned off!  {{{HUGS}}}

Ya I think we can do without that and ratings dont you?

It is hard to keep up on gather all around.  I wish they had a little icon on your gather page to let you know you had pings.
