But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31
Are we sometimes our own worst enemies? Often we shoot ourselves down before we even try something. If it seems strange or impossible, we immediately think "we can't". Somehow we forget with faith, anything is possible.
I'm guilty as charged. In the past few years, limitations exist for me that never existed before. If my body is tired or my world is overturned, I slide into an unproductive mode. After a few days, I feel even worse about myself and the world around me.
When I fight of those negative thoughts and think, "Yes I can!", everything is better. While I may not be capable of moving mountains, I can certainly climb hills. Before I realize it, I'm reaching my goal. If we don't start somewhere, we never make any progress.
Often we need to relax our expectations of ourselves. If we want to accomplish five tasks, sometimes we need to be satisfied when we get three done that day. Another opportunity exists tomorrow to finish what we started.
This reminds me of the turtle and the hare. We all progress at our own pace. Is the race really important or the destination? As long as we're headed in the right direction, we're doing it.
Do you ever stop yourself before you get started because you don't think you can do something? Have you ever surprised yourself by accompishing something with a can-do attitude? Do you find a can-do attitude is contagious and helps everyone around you feel more productive, too? Please feel free to comment or share your own thoughts at Gathering 4 Jesus.
Have a beautiful, blessed weekend!

You go girl. Good lesson. Thanks for sharing. I'm a hill climber, getting too old for the mountains.....LOL.....but, if I have too, then I'll sure give it a shot.
The destiantion is the gem~the process is important, the speed is not =)
Very well said!
That's true. If everybody would think that way. Thanks for sharing
This is so very, very true! Sometimes we are defeated before we even begin a project, due to our negativity or attitude problem. Like when I was working outside on the weed problem, I kept thinking, "yes, I can and will do this.....it is NOT too hard for me....just do a little at a time and take breaks!" It's just incredible what I got accomplished outdoors......now, it's indoors....LOL!
Love that particular Bible verse....it's my very favorite and was used at my mom's funeral service!!
These Bible lessons are so very inspirational. You've taken on quite a ministry in writing and sharing these with all of us!
A positive attitude is so much better for ourselves & all those around us!

Yes, many times.
Have you ever surprised yourself by accompishing something with a can-do attitude?
yes, I have. Once I have done. I feel a sense of accomplishment.
Do you find a can-do attitude is contagious and helps everyone around you feel more productive, too?
I do depending on how the can do person acts.
