The second (and don't worry, last, for now!) photoessay from the trip I took with my mother to the Grounds for Sculpture after my graduation on Friday, May 22nd.
My mother and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing all of the different styles of sculpture. Some of them were a bit baffling to look at.

And some were just sort of silly... this one gave a whole new meaning to the phrase "high chair".

Water is a big part of the Grounds.

There is even a sectioned off part called the Water Garden...

It had a variety of fountains and ponds and such.

There are various little bridges throughout that also allow you to get a unique view...

I love how dense the foliage gets; it really helps to break the huge place into different segments.
My mother and I stumbled across some of the living residents of the Grounds, too.

The peacocks are quite impressive, and can be heard shrieking their call all around the place.

The birds were not the only other residents out and about on this day, though.

This rabbit was unsure of what to make of us.

We also saw a groundhog, which displeased my mother, as groundhogs are her mortal enemies. (Much as the squirrels are mine.)
Before we left, we had some beverages outside of Rat's, and enjoyed the lovely view and good weather.

And then, with happily sore feet from all the walking, we left the Grounds... though I'm sure there will be another trip or two in the future!

That poor rabbit looks scared to death!
We surprised him (and he surprised us!) but after snapping a quick shot, we left him to do his rabbity activities :)

It really does look like a cool place to go
Rabbits and peacocks! How cool! I would be thrilled to see either, and you got pictures of both! This place is a great subject for a photo essay.
Very pretty photo essay
Beautiful!
Wow, there are some very neat sculptures there.
So many beautiful sculptures! Thank you for sharing your essay.
Thanks so much for sharing your tour with us. This place is really amazing. Beautiful art and I especially enjoyed all of your individual gallery shots. Yes, I looked at them all and I loved them all.
Wants the salt & pepper shakers :P
Hey, I've got a groundhog that I'd be happy to send to your mother!! That rabbit does not look like the rabbits around here.
Excellent photos!!
Wait a minute, maybe it's not a groundhog. It might be a woodchuck. Or are they the same thing? Damn, I cannot stop thinking about corn dogs!!
Groundhogs are my mortal enemies, as well. I have one that keeps sneaking in and eating my purple coneflowers to the ground. That little punk. Great pictures, Tory.
