We had a pretty hard rain for about an hour or more yesterday afternoon. It's been raining on and off for about two weeks here now, so the ground is pretty saturated. After the rain the yard was covered in large puddles from where the rain hadn't soaked in yet. It was hot and muggy and I saw no reason why the kids couldn't go outside and enjoy the water, so that's what they did.

It was so humid out that the lens on my camera kept fogging up.

I was still able to get some fun shots though.

The kids started out in regular clothes but very quickly Haley put on a bathing suit and Parker took off his t-shirt. (Jax, that's a pair of Batman shorts that you sent Parker.)

Puddles had even formed around the swingset.

Parker brought out a couple of his dinosaurs to play with, and I couldn't resist snapping a shot of one that looked sort of like a freaky lizard for a moment.

Of course Haley had to pose for me a few times, even though she was covered in dirt and grass. I had a terrible time scrubbing all that off of them!

This shot of Parker made me think of some sort of male cover model calendar. LOL

They kids were having a blast playing in all that water as you can see.

They played outside in the puddles for about an hour. And then it was bath time.

While they played I took a few photos of some of my flowers.

These are the lilies I planted last summer.

And these are the Gerbera daisies I planted about four years ago.

I forget what this next flower is. I planted it last summer but just recently transplanted it to Parker's flower bed where it is thriving.

It was a fun evening for the kids. They enjoyed themselves after the rain. If there hadn't been thunder and lightning during the storm we'd have gone out and played in the actual rain, which is what I love to do.

Looks like fun! Reminds me of when I was a kid.
we had a flood last night
This is what I should have done after our storm passed yesterday. :)
Tina,
What?? Play in the water?
cute pics
Aw!!! Cute pics and the lillies are beautiful!!!
We always played in the rain as kids. As long as it was not storming. Great pics of your flowers too.
Love the spideys!
And I am afraid all the rain we got may have ruined some of my garden :(
Oh my this is every kids' dream. I bet they had a blast, and I just love that photo of Parker.
how fun!!
Great photo essay, You have some cute children.
It brings back old memories when we were kids playing in the water after the rain. Usually in the flooded streets. But now to come to think about it ...YuCKY

What a cheerful photo essay! Thanks, Vic.
A perfect day to play.
What fun to be young, it looks like the kids had a good time.
HA! They look like they are having so much fun. I remember doing stuff like that when I was a kid, we used to go tree jumping too.
Love the veggie garden in the background too!
Who needs a pool when you have puddles?? :~)
My best friend and I would always go out after big rain storms and play in her background because it would always flood. You're pictures of the kids made me think of all of our fun times.
i loved to go play in the puddles after the rain. I let my girls go play also. They are 14 & 18 and still love to go play in the rain.
Really cute photos. We used to play in puddles like that after the big rains when I was a kid too.
LOL...oh that looks like so much fun Victoria. The kids do look like they are having a blast. The ground here is so saturated too...I hope we don't get any rain for about a week, so things can dry out.
I wouldn't mind being out in the rain, but it's not just rain...it's always storming (with lightning).
What a fun photo essay! I love the one of Parker as a male model!
LOL@ male cover model calendar. Haley giving the Peace sign. LOL
Victoria, a great photo essay. The kids are precious, I loved to play in the rain and mud ,and let my kids play ,also. It's a good Mommy that encourages this ! It's healthy.
wonderful pictures.... it made me remember times when I was a child and my sisters and I did the same thing after a heavy rain , thanks for the memories!!
Your kids are so lucky to have such a fun Mom. Looks like a blast. The pictures were adorable.
I got the kiddie pool out today and let the kids play around in it. It was very hot/sunny here today. It was nice for them to be able to get outside and stay cool at the same time. Of course they played well for a little while, then Maddie wanted to hog the pool and wanted her little brother out. Oh, the joys of sibling rivalry.
Great pictures. It looks like they had a lot of fun.
awww great photos of fun times... beautiful flowers too... love and hugs...
