Well, since my family didn't get me a cake for my birthday (and I gave them the exact one I wanted to), I stopped tonight to get me a slice of cake. OMG...the slice was huge. It will take me at least 3 sittings to eat it, and NO, the kids aren't getting any of it.
The people at the restraunt knew it was for my birthday, so they included a birthday candle. How neat is that? The slice is actually cheese cake on the bottom, then chocolate mousse, then chocolate cake, then more chocoate mousse, and all surrounded by chocolate. On top is a candied cherry and two chocolate/white chocolate sticks.
I was going to get a slice of something for the kids to share, but the waitress informed me that they put in a slice of strawberry cheesecake for the kids (since I bought my birthday slice).
I should have put something in with it, so you can see exactly how big this one is too. Angela and Christopher split it, and neither of the kids finished their piece. It will probably take Angela 2 more sittings to finish her half.
Ah, now I'm going to go sneak another bite...or two....

Well Happy Birthday! Sometimes I think we sometimes end up with the wrong family traits...I HATE CAKE and especially spice cake. Guess what my kids always used to make for my birthday...SPICE CAKE. UGH.
I do have to say that even though I hate cake...yours looks and sounds pretty dang good! ENJOY!
I'm not a big cake person either...that's why it's mostly mousse and cheese cake.

I baked my own birthday cake, I had not had one in 4 years. Your cake looks delicious. Which restaurant did it come from?
I got it at the Marietta Fish Market on Canton Road. They have good soups there too.
Everything I've had there is delicious but I'm usually too full for dessert, lol.
I knew that looked like it came from one of that family of restaurants. We haven't been to that one yet, but I love Pasta Bella, Marietta Diner, and Cherokee Cattle Company. I can't eat those desserts at any of them, though.
However, they are supposed to be having birthday cake for Marietta at Glover Park tonight, and a Beatles tribute band, so I probably will eat some there.
I haven't been to Pasta Bella or Cherokee Cattle Company (Mike has and doesn't like the service), but I do like both the Fish Market and the Marietta Diner.
I can only eat a few bites, since the desserts are so rich. It will take me days to eat that piece of cake (and that's sharing with the kids).

I got a Precious Moments figurine but it wasn't one I collect (or want). I was told that hubby couldn't find the Belle birthday piece. I went on ebay and bought if for less than the Hallmark store...it took me all of 5 minutes.
No, I didn't get anything else...oh, a card from a friend...the card from my parents is somehow lost in the mail.
My Birthday is May 29th. Tomorrow. I told my husband no birthday cake because I am on a diet and I know I will stuff it down my face and then regret it. Once I lose the 10 more lbs I am off to buy an icecream cake for myself. Happy Birthday

My husband bought me a cake this year. I almost fainted and it was a really good choice. It didn't help the waist line, but it tasted good.
