I wish to write a silly little love poem,
but what can I say,
is there a mathematical formula,
I could apply to make it say,
what I wish it to say.
Should I use spoon and moon and croon and June
and other words that rhyme?
Is it appropriate to just say be mine?
I want to hold you tight?
I want to kiss you goodnight?
I want to write a silly little love poem,
not a ridiculous rhymer's delight.
Ahhh, I look to my muse, with
(An aside: Can Muse's be male for female writer's?
Or, are all Muse's female?)
the beauty of the sun,
if anyone can help me,
my Muse is the one.
I could say Te amo,
or Le adoro,
there is beauty in these words.
I could say you remind me of the roasting chestnuts in New York,
on a chilly winter's morn.
I could say you remind me of the sky,
on a beautiful spring day.
There are many words I could choose,
to touch your mind,
but to touch your heartstrings,
is the problem that I find.
How about Mi corazón es el suyo?
In English?
I find no end to my quest.
I guess I shall have to put it to rest.
Musings in the middle of the night. I was talking to someone about silly little love songs and they named this song (which I listened to), LOL, I don't think the writer was wrapped up quite tight enough, or maybe to tight?
Ok, I was not going to put music with this poem, but I just couldn't help it. Just to get happy to!

You just can't resist those videos! LOL
I love it!
I love your poem!! Really nice!!
I feel like I'm 14 again!
Aww that was really sweet.
She bows deeply, one small tear rolling down her cheek.
Excellent, Chanochka, my dear... and, as far as I'm concerned, NOT "silly" at all! :-)
Hag Sameah - S.
Good for you. That is great.
Whats good George? How are you?
Your poem is good. I am doing fine. How about you?
George, I am magestically imagining many magical things. AKA: I am doing well. My muse is driving me crazy!
Oh my goodness! I didn't actually look at the video before because I was working on something else, I swear my muse is on speed lately. (I am going to have to talk to him about that, lol!) I think this video is so much fun! And Paul, wow, he is so young and very good looking too.
I used to have a huge crush on Paul!! How many teenaged girls didn't? Not too many, I venture to guess. Excellent post!
Janie, at first it was Ringo (because no one else did), then as they matured it was John because I love his words.
=D sweet write, dear Chana =D
Thank you for posting to GutterGirls~
Your muse is the excitement building up inside of you. Feed him.
There are no silly love poems. The only silly poems are un-love poems.
Some of the most beautiful songs were written by Lennon and McCartney.
Fred, my muse is starving! Maybe that is why he (I have decided my muse is a he after all) is screaming at me like a muse on speed? I am just so distracted by my muse. I have two things that I need to be writing and I want to comment, comment, comment! Tell my muse to behave please.
Oh, on Lennon and McCartney, you got that right! Though the song "I Will" I think that was written by Harrison and it's got to be one of the most beautiful love songs I have ever heard. But, Lennon and McCartney, yes! And Lennon, and McCartney also.
Listen to your muse. He has things to tell you.
It was lovely to see Paul with Linda again in this video. Those were the days, although this is not one of my favorite Paul songs. (It's not one of my least favorites, either.)
Rhetta, I am smiling that you said "Those were the days". I believe it was McCartney who "discovered" Mary Hopkin. So it made your comment so interesting to read. Yes, there was alot of controversy about Linda, but they did seem to compliment each other, didn't they. They look so happy together (Oh no that's The Turtles, lol!) and the video is alot of fun!
Well, I am an old fart, and "Those Were The Days" is one of my favorite songs -- especially sung by Robert Goulet. It will be played at my wake, along with "My Way" and several others
George, you are not an old fart. If you look through my articles (or posts if you will G-D I hate calling them that, it sounds like accounting!) you will see one dedicated to Sveta that has the English "Those Were The Days" sung by Mary Hopkin and the original Russian version (sorry I don't remember who is singing that one). I love that song!
Thank you Chana. I am still and old fart -- I just got back from an Old Farts Reunion. While there, I learned that I am the oldest living past president of my old union.
George, far be it for me to argue with you (but I still don't think you are an old fart), didn't Frankie S. have a song about being "young at heart"?
Argh! I have to refresh my page every time I correct or respond a second time.
Ah, when you know what you feel, but you don't know how to say it, oftentimes that's when the words come to explain what you couldn't say... well done. And I like the videos you put in your posts.... helps the mood.:)
Roses are red...
John, I cannot tell you how very tired I am right now. I was kept up to all hours by my muse. I had decided to chuck it and go blob because I am becoming reading challenged. BUT, I read your comment and this burst of laughter came out of me. Thank you so much!
Good one Chana.
I was so lost in thought looking at Paul and Linda and Denny!
soo sweet
Te amo, mucho! Esta muy bueno! I love your continued contributions and hope to read more soon!
Thanks so very much for posting to my group, Anythingwriting
By the way, I have a new story up. It's based on a prompt for Thursday's Writing Essentials, Aletterbetweenfriends , would you by chance come by to read it soon? Thanks.
I'm sorry to say that I hate this song. (After John Lennon died, it became pretty clear that he was the Beatle's best lyrics-writer).
Your poem is better-written and more evocative. Thank you for posting to The Surreal Circus.
Ann, I just caught your comment. Lennon was amazing, he was magic! If you go to my page you will see a picture of him spotlighted. He was not perfect, but he will always be one of my heros. If I was forced to pick a favorite Beatle's song it would be one written by Lennon.
Let's all fill the world with little love songs.
What's wrong with that? I'd like to know

Did you know that all of your posts are reappearing in my group, Anythingwriting ? Just curious, that's all. Because I'm having to re-approve them and I've already read all of them.
Sorry Angela, it should not happen anymore.
Congratulations on the feature!
