Come on in and see what's blooming in my garden. It's been awhile since I had you over.
Let's start our tour with the Hibiscus.
The hibiscus are all in full bloom.
Bright red - single bloom - love it.

I have three big bushes, but two of the hibiscus bushes are really fun to watch bloom, because it's like they have an identity crisis.
You never know what the color and shape of the flowers will be.
I was really thrilled when I discovered this triple bloom!

Here is one that is more like a rose blush with tinges of other colors.
I told you some of them have an identity crisis ...

I've been trying to catch a pink and a peach sherbet color blooming next to each other. I know they must have been grafted before I got them from a friend, but still, it's cool to see.

This little beauty has much stronger colors.
The rainy season started early this year and our Jasmin tree decided to bloom for a second time ...
Heavenly scents - sweet and spicy - wafting through the air.
Look - he has a little visitor - a bumble bee.

The Jasmin bush over in the party central area looks more like a gardenia or a rose.
Wish you could inhale this sweet scent ...

It's a lovely day and the butterflies are out enjoying the sunshine.

The flamingo colored anthuriums have become pot bound and the blooms have been getting smaller.
I counted nine different good size plants in the same pot,
maybe I should post a for sale sign out front and sell those babies.

My Chicago Peace rose has been blooming non-stop for almost two weeks.
I moved the pot and I think it likes it's new spot much better.

Looks like we surprised Jimbo, our resident garden kitty,
enjoying the nice weather.

Another favorite of mine is this grass iris.
It is evergreen and looks like an ornamental grass most of the year.
Carefree too - my kind of plant:)

Ah, I see Mini-Kitty is outside too, she spotted a bird.

Oh, I almost forgot to show you, the hydrangeas have begun flowering.
Last year they were lavender blue.
They made it through our hot Florida summer and now they look like they will bloom pink this year.

I'm always happy to see the Frangipani (plumeria), but so far only the white Frangipani have started blooming.

I don't know about you, but I'm getting hot and parched out here. Have a seat in the Secret Garden, while I'll get us something cool and refreshing to drink.
I hope you have enjoyed the tour.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Rose, I feel like I just got a tour through paradise. You really must have an amazing garden, and I imagine that every visitor would want to stay there and never leave. Your cat looks like the luckiest cats in the world.
JR - If you are ever down-actually up and over:) this way, drop by, you're always welcome for a visit. We'll BBQ or just hang out in the secret garden and gazebo. I know you'd enjoy it. ... and it's plenty big for the boys to run around on the property too.
That peace rose really is magnificent.
I'm always amazed - every bud and bloom is just perfect, I love those shades of pink and ivory colors with a hint of yellow. It's so beautiful you can't take a bad picture of it.
Thanks for the tour. I really enjoyed your beautiful garden. I truly miss living in FL. I had so many beautiful flowers there.
Delightful, beautiful!
These are gorgeous photos. You have some very beautiful plants.
You've got some really pretty flowers already. Nice photos and essay.
Lovely! That triple bloom is quite impressive. All of the colors are marvelous! :)
Tory - that was the first triple bloom I'd ever seen. On rare occasions I've had a double bloom.
Your garden is a little piece of paradise Rose. I must say, the butterfly photo is a masterpiece. I hope you frame that beauty and hang it in a place of honor.
Thanks so much for posting this to my group.
Nana - you always find the right words to say:) I can't tell you how much I appreciate it when you drop by. I actually look forward to your sweet comments.:) Tacky, but true:)
As far as the butterfly one I have one other which turned out even better - the lighting was just right. My girlfriend asked if she could use the pic as her laptop screen:)
I loved the visit!
beautiful photos
Jimbo! My buddy!
I recently bought an anthurium, they can be divided easily? Mine will have to be a houseplant up here in Minnesota, and hopefully it will survive being indoors all winter.
Priscilla - I'm not certain about dividing.
What happened is that they actually separated themselves from the mother plant. It's like they grew air roots, only the mother plant is still rooted in the pot.
I've never seen anything like it. There are actually nine completely separate plants.
Originally the flowers on it were huge, but they have been getting smaller each year to where now they have the size of the indoor plants I used to see at the florist.
I will just ahve to keep an eye on mine then & see how it does!
Very well done, Rose. The pictures and the naration are really good.
George - I missed your comments on my pancake recipe post:) Just kidding:) Thank you - I appreciate your visit to my garden!
Another beautiful garden photo essay! I love the peace rose shot, it is gorgeous!

Beautiful tour of your garden. Stunning photos! I, too, love the butterfly shot. Truly magnificent!
A beautiful essay! The take really great pix, and the narrative adds even more (if that is possible) to the pix!
Beautifil garden too!

I meant to say "you take really great pix"...
Merry - Thank you so muc, I try to keep the narrative interesting. We really enjoy our garden - it's the reason I got into picture taking in the first place.

Denise - Thanks - this will be a gardening weekend - at least on Saturday:) Hope you have a lovely weekend too.
this was a most enjoyable trip through your photos, Rose! I posted anthuriums last week, but never knew the "name" until now...we just call them the "boys",lol. Your mini-kitty looks just my cassi....sooo cute!
What delightful colors and gorgeous blossoms!
I loved the tour! It was fabulous and I am so jealous of your gorgeous hibiscus - or hot biscuits as mama called them...hope that while I'm in bayou land, I can plant all those colors - did you buy the hibiscus in plant form? Mama's froze but one survived and it's as tall as the house with red hibiscus like your first shot. Thanks and now I can sit and relax again in your garden! Salud
Mariana - nice to see you sistah. Yes - my two nice ones were a gift from a friend to me and the red one I bought as a small plant.
Rose, I love your flowers!!! Where in FL do you reside? I live in Palm Beach County. I do not have much room for flowers. So, I was thinking of planting in big pots..however, I do not have much luck. What do you do to keep them so beautiful? I have a NE exposure in my patio. I do not have a yard as I live in a community of townhomes. I do have a lot of luck with the frangipanies. I just cut, dig hole, put in, they root & bloom! I have the "mother which was a cutting from a friend's yard). That one is now the "mother". So, I cut from that one and give to friends, plant some more for myself, etc...it is fun. They are indestructible. Even the hurricanes do them no harm. As a matter of fact, they seem to help them! Please tell me your secret of such beauties.
Yolanda - thanks, I'm in the Tampa Bay area. It seems hibiscus are finicky for the first two or three years and after that they are completely carefree.
So get one in a big pot and it should do fine.
I fertilize with Osmocote twice a year and if it is really super dry and hot in the summer I do give them water once a week.
Other than that I don't even water them either.
Ihave two new ones and I can't get them to grow and bloom either. Not sure what their problem is.
Rose, this was a refreshing photo essay with cheerful blooms to make us smile. Each one was beautiful and pleasing.
Ho marvelously FABULoUs
