The people of California have said "no" to same-sex marriages. California Supreme Court has upheld the validity of Proposition 8 despite legal challenges from two gays and two lesbians.
As with the bible, the United States Constitution is up to interpretation. It comes down to who's reading it and how can they twist it to make it fit their needs. But some basic principles will never change... it takes a man and a woman to make a society.
Californians need to stick to their guns and not have their vote pushed aside by a minority group seeking to thwart natural laws.
A marriage between a man and woman has far more implication then just personal gratification. It's about raising a family. And that is what moves society forward. The human species could not survive long if not for the basic facts between a man and a woman. And of all the really complicated human relationships in the world today this one is a no brainer.

Its ironic that the direct democracy that many progs strongly desire again shoots them down. They should remember this when screaming for moving more towards a national democracy of mob rule rather than a republic of laws which aren't changeable on a whim.
Amen to that! A distant California relative has described the "evil court" for not ruling the way she wanted. Unfortunately, we have not heard the end of it even with the vote and the legal ruling.
Charles, I couldn't have said it any better! Thanks for your comment.
The majority is not always right. I believe in liberty and justice for all. Do you--except for gays?
And neither is the minority, Leo... I say Amen to this and futher, perceive this ruling as a direct answer to prayer. As far as liberty and justice for all I would then assume you are also refering to the more than 3,000 of our innocent, unborn children who's lives are being snuffed out each and every day? Wouldn't they not then, deserve those same liberties and justice that you speak of?
I would also like to refer you to a very profound article I came upon last night and read. It may well shed a bit of light of understanding on all this insanity dancing about us these days? http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474977693442
Leo L.
I have no problem with "liberty and justice for all".. but when it's all said and done.. you can't fool Mother Nature. Straights can live without gays. Gays can not survive as a group without straights. I didn't write the rules. :O)
God wrote the rules and futher for our own good and men would be most wise to consult him about it once in a while... lol..
Fun fact of the day:
Not everyone is Christian AND this is not a Christian Nation. We are a secular nation.
Oh and Jesus said love thy neighbor, and judge not lest ye be judged.
You religious nut bags that are so quick to take the rights away from peopel really should re read what your Savior has to say on the subject of how to treat people.
I suggest that you re-read Leviticus. If you do, you will find that you are condemned for things you have done and that you can own slaves from neighboring countries.
And may I suggest you scoop the Bible out of your head and plant it into your heart where it belongs? lol..
Leo L. .. which of course have nothing to do with this issue of gays. But if I recall my bible right it took a man and a woman to make a clan. Mmm... it doesn't get any clearer then that.
P.S. Leviticus deals with the priesthood. We find that the bible also says man shall not lay down with man. But that aside, Mother Nature isn't too thrilled about it either. Why? Because it's only self-serving, it doesn't advance the species going forward.
Leviticus also prohibits the eating of shell fish and wearing of blended fibers.
No shrimp, polyester or gays!
