Voices down in the hallway
Voices down in the street
The rumble of the city
Beneath my dancing feet.
The city that never sleeps
Makes it feel more alive
When people head home
As sunrise does arrive
The place is always jumping
Horse drawn carriages abound
People teem from everywhere
What a wonderful sound!
Carefully orchestrated
Crowds move here to there
Happy laughing people
With excitement in the air
The theater crowd's a plenty
Heading for a bite to eat
Everyone rushing somewhere
The unreality of it is so neat
As the sun rises in the east
The bright lights fade away
Many head home to bed
While others start their day
I'll always love the city
The Broadway music too
'Cause my feet feel like dancing
Until the morning too.
(I have lived in the city and I have lived in the country, this morning I decided to write a poem about each)

Devil, dying
I love this, thanks for sharing~
Good one, Heather!
Cities certainly are different worlds; all filled with their own mystery and excitement.
Great rhythm and rhyme, very enjoyable.
I like this. :)
