yes he is
Thanks Angela I was wondering about this guy
some house fenches do come in yellow instead of the red due to the food they eat.
I have yellow orange and red but this guy looked a little different, younger. We also have Purple and Cassin's finch
I don't know what they are, but they're neat to look at.
Thanks Leah
I am Bird-Clueless, so I defer to Angela.
But he's cute. (I know, looks aren't everything.)
Thanks Tracy
I agree--most likely immature male house finch. Great photos.
Thanks John
I am surprized that the finches seemed to beat the sparrows in fledglings this year.
Well Vivian....this just happened to be one I did know!!! LOL You certainly got a great capture of him too.....love the pics!!
Thanks Phyllis

Yep, it's a house finch. I never know if they are male or not. I tend to call them all he.

We've lot of wild Finch in the backyard, they just love our bird feeders, and waterfall . . Beutiful, bright-little-bastards . . :)
Yeah they are pretty, right now we're over run by Grosebeaks
Thanks Paul
All I know is that it's a really fabulous photo of a bird !!!
Thanks Peter
I put up a finch feeder for mom, about a two weeks ago. She now has the yellow ones and the red ones. All I get, are the red ones...The yellow ones are so pretty...Very vibrant yellow. Very nice Vivian....It almost looks like the tail feathers are too long for a finch, but the beginning of the yellow breast is starting to show...
I'm thinking that in the case of his tail he'll grow into it.
Thanks Randall
Wonderful Captures Vivian
Thanks Elaine
He is adorable. Great photo's Vivian.
He's so cute, they are pretty birds. You're so lucky to have many different species and great photos of them.
Thanks so much for posting to my group.
