I took little ms brie brie in today for her check up to make sure her back brace is working. It is not only working, but they are talking about in 4 months weening her out of it. Her degree of curve is down to 17 that is down from 29. The only HICCUP is that due to the pressure on her Thoraxic (sp) part of the spine, has now started the lumbar part of the spine to curve. The dr thinks it should correct it self. She will not be out of the brace anytime soon. I am so excited, I feel like we finally have one major issue with her figured out. I am one happy mommy. I finally feel like all my hard work with her is finally paying off. THANK YOU everyone who kept her in your thoughts today.

This is fantastic news. My grand daughter is almost 17 and the curve in her spine would require major surjury and a brace for some time. The father waited to long to have it looked at. So he has decided not to have her go thru all of the agony.

i am so sorry to hear about your granddaughter. My daughter is only 3, so the brace worked right away, i know they were talking about keeping her in it until she was 19. Please pm me if you have any question i so understand all this stuff..
Thank you. I use to work at the shriners hospital and have worked with many children with this. My grand daughters curve is so bad you can see it from the front from the way she has to carry her body. At least the school finally agreed to letting her have a set of books for home and for school so she doesn't have to lug the heavy things around.
She is going to culinary school and we are hoping that this doesn't stop her dream of owning her own business one day. Thank you for your kindness. If she was mine she would of had this taken care of long ago, but the father doesn't think its' necessary. Yea right. I know my daughter, her mom, has it also. But it wasn't discovered until later in her life.
