Yep, another photoessay from the Grounds for Sculpture! They place is just too big and amazing; I can't help but take over 100 photos when I'm there! So sit back, and enjoy the view... without having to walk the 35 acres yourself ;)
This particular trip was taken directly after my graduation, so my mother and I started it off with a meal at the Rat's restaurant on the Grounds.

They put such care into all of the landscaping, and how they incorporate each piece of art into the scenery. They also use a lot of water; a lake borders the Grounds on one side, and many streams, little waterfalls and such can be found throughout the other areas.
Some of the acreage is grassy and open, reminiscent of a manicured park.

However, in other areas, dense foliage nearly hides little paths.

There are various 'levels', too; some places overlook others. Here, my mom is standing on a little bridge that gives an interesting view of some of the other immediate surroudings.

With the inclusion of so many different artists, the pieces displayed are as varied as the landscape is.

Those reminded me of Q-tips. There was a third to the right, but it didn't make it into the shot.
We had a perfect day to roam... it was bright and sunny, and luckily not too hot.

One of the more impressive works in The Nine Muses area.

It's like a little temple of sorts. I know some Gather-friends had asked questions about it in another photoessay I'd done on the Grounds.

With the 'moat' around it, the work is quite interesting.

Stay tuned for more from the Grounds!

Cool essay and nice perspective on the images too. Love that labyrinth. Nine muses, interesting.
This is my kind of place I'd go see that if I lived anywhere near.
What a unique and interesting place! Thanks for giving me the chance to "explore" it!
Neato!
Wow - it looks like a wonderful place to visit!
I could spend DAYS wandering around there! I can see why you take so many pics!
What a great place to spend the day meandering around. Beautiful photos, Tory.
Lovely!
Great photo essay! And I think I've got a lot to take care of with my lawn. I must be hungry because the sculptures that reminded you of Qtips, look like corn dogs to me. :o)
