Did Kris Allen really win the American Idol season finale because America liked him more? A breaking news story around the American Idol voting controversy reveals that AT&T may have influenced the results. According to The New York Times, AT&T provided free text-messaging and instructions on casting blocks of votes to two parties of Kris Allen supporters in Arkansas. A power text is the ability to send 10 or more text messages by pressing a single button. The New York Times says these types of texts, "have an exponentially greater effect on voting than do single text messages or calls to the shows toll-free phone lines." These services though were not provided at parties for Adam Lambert.
A spokesperson for AT&T admitted, “In Arkansas, we were invited to attend the local watch parties organized by the community. A few local employees brought a small number of demo phones with them and provided texting tutorials to those who were interested.â€

Since the NSA controls AT&T, I wouldn't doubt it in the least. A forerunner to more "electronic voting" corruption?
For someone as talented as Adam, it is better to come in second and not be bound by the AI contract. He'll do much better on his own. I say, no recount.

I say it was rigged. But as shown in the past, other than with Carrie Underwood, the losers always end up doing better than the winners anyways.

I don't seriously think a recount will happen. I think both will do fine either way.
Kris was an excellent singer. Adam also was excellent but aimed toward a different crowd as we all could see.

I don't follow American Idol at all, but I think that Kris Allen is talented, more talented than Adam. Adam is a very good showman though.
I saw something about this on the news this morning and think that AT&T did do something to screw it up for Adam. Definitely. Seems that way to me. I hope it isn't true but if it is, then they should re-play the show the night before the finale and let people vote again. It isn't fair for Kris.
