I can't believe I'm still survive after the finals :). For two weeks, I struggled with many things such as the last papers need to be done, the practices and reviews for the finals, and I had to deal with my really bad allergy as well. These things cost me several nights sleepless.
I prepared for the finals with all my best. Unfortunately, I am just an old lady :). I couldn't remember all the stuffs that I have learned for the whole semester.
- For the history class, I needed to memorize all the events and why these events occurred from the Progressive Era to the present time; too many things to remember
:(.
- For the grammar class, I needed to memorize all the grammar rules. I gave up!!! why English grammar has so many rules like that :).
- For my piano class, I need to play two songs and memorize the music theory for the written test.
For that reason, on the finals, I didn't do well on the exams. I reviewed the lessons very carefully, but I don't know why on the finals' day, my mind was so empty. Too bad, but the good part is the finals just cost me 10% of the total grade, so it seems not very bad at all even if I flunk the finals.
After the finals, I was exhausted. For three days, I didn't want to do anything except sleeping and just relaxing. Now, I'm back to normal and enjoy my summer vacation. Sorry my Gather friends for I'm not visit your post lately.
P.S: Ah! I forget to say I'm nervous to wait for my grades.

Congratulations, Van!! I'm glad you made it :) I hope you did very well, sometimes I think I've performed poorly on exams to later find out I did much better than I expected. I hope that happens for you too! 8)
It is great, but there has not been a shadow of doubt. How is the allergy?
Red Rage, Green Poison
Well, dear Van, please accept my congratulations and enjoy your vacations! :-)
Blessings and good luck - S.
Congratulation on continuing your quest for education, I once was told that you never stop learning and when you do you will dry up and blow away. I found when I went to college it is all in how you study---knowing what they want you to know and forget the rest---I was a note taker and anything they put on the board I took down, any time the teacher would say something twice you can bet it will show up on a test and did so that got taken down. Finials were easy, all you have to do is review all the test given as 90% of the question were from the test. Just relax, you made it...
The reason English has so many grammar rules is to give people like me a career in editing and teaching grammar.
Hope your grades are better than you expect.
Congratulations on finishing your classes. I hope your grades will surpass your expectations, Van!
Thanks so much for your comments and words of encourage. I'm crossing my fingers and wait for the grades :)
A BIG "THUMBS UP" FOR YOU!!!!!....

Glad you made it through. I never understood why it's important for us to memorize all these facts that we can't possibly retain!
Glad you made it through without a major crisis. I could never go back to school at my age. be proud of yourself!
Reminds me of my college days.
Yay! Congratulations Van =)
Congratulations - I'll bet it feels great to be out!
Congratulations -
I was/am (retired) English language professor and of course I love grammar rules. We have grammar rules written on our kitchen wallpaper and an English grammar trivia question on our front door welcome mat. We call 911 on people who can't answer these questions. All of our guests must show they can utilize past perfect verbs and state that Santa is not a clause before we feed guests.
The key to success in most tests is in getting a good night sleep. To get a good sleep, you need to count floating llama instead of sheep. I believe Marge will second this without a grammar mistake.
