We just arrived home, and wow are we tired! The park was fabulous yesterday. We got to ride 6 rides/coasters we've never done (one of the 6 Nick had done before- Mantis, a standing steel coaster), and had a great time. Aside from 2 coasters, nothing had a wait time of longer than 15 minutes.
We had a nice jacuzzi room for afterwards, and I must say- we are doing that EVERY time from here on out. We were able to soak away the sore muscles last night, and not wake up all cramped and in pain today. The only down side is that the only jacuzzi rooms they had were smoking rooms. I didn't think it would be too bad, but the whole room reeked of smoke. We turned the air on, and it got a LOT worse, so we had to turn it right back off.
Ah well, next time, I'll bring fabreze- a lot of it. In the mean time, I'm going to complain about it to the corporate offices, because it was pretty bad. Especially since they don't offer any non-smoking jacuzzi rooms, but do have regular non-smoking rooms.
The room itself was nice- microwave, mini-fridge, coffee pot, plus continental breakfast, a child's play area, a pool (empty still), and it was really close to Cedar Point, and only $60 a night.
We loaded up on free breakfast this morning, and hit the road by 10. We passed a Goodwill in Sandusky, so we stopped- it was HORRIBLY over priced. The place was huge, but they wanted over $1 for paperback books, and almost $2 for hardcovers (our's is $.59/paperback, $.99/hard cover- on the cheap side, it's $.10/book). Furniture that would be $20-30 here was close to or over $100 there. No thanks!
We left, and headed out just before the rain hit. When we reached Maumee, I saw another Goodwill, so yet again, I stopped. There, I found a cool skull shaped water bottle from Cedar Point for $.50, so I grabbed it. That one was better priced, but clothing wasn't sorted by size, and everything was just kind of piled up everywhere.
On the way home, we also stopped in Dundee, Michigan for food, and we went to the Tanger Outlets (I want to say those are in Howell). I wound up finding the Sketchers I love for only $30, so Nick got me 2 pairs (they discontinued the style). We also found a Bargain Books, Pepperidge Farms, Bath & Body Works, and I can't recall what else. I got a large bubble bath for $2.37, and 12 of the mini travel bubble baths, shower gels, lotions, etc, for $1 a piece at Bath & Body Works.
I am thinking ahead for Rae's stocking, and for prizes this summer.
I took over 400 videos & pictures, over 300 of them at Cedar Point alone. I got some AWESOME coaster shots, though. I'm SO excited that I took my own camera! I've never done anything more than a disposable before. It was nice having a camera I could use with no limits. Well, I did get scared I was going to run out of space, so I switched the MP down from 7.1 to 5.0, which gave me a lot more space.
Anyway, we're home, we're alive, and we're tired!

Hope you get some rest. Sounds like you have a good time.
welcome home! glad you had a good trip!!
Glad you had a good trip, and I"m so jealous. My brother and SIL were there yesterday too.
So, how did you like the Maverick? I thought it was just awesome!!! It is easily my favorite.
It usurped Raptor as our favorite, hands down! We only got to do it twice, because of the long lines, but OMG, I'm in love! That and Raptor were the ones with lines, though by 5 when we swung back by Raptor, it'd gone down from an hour wait to a 15 minute wait, while Maverick went from an hour to 30 minutes by 7.
We did Mantis 3 times- complete walk on each time. Iron Dragon twice, Wicked Twister once (first time- LOVED that, too!), plus Corkscrew, Gemini, and Cedar Creek Mine Ride. Gemini felt different- slower, smoother, than last time we went. Neither of us were impressed. We thought the trains were different- last time, we were squished up next to each other. This time, there was about 6 inches space in between us (and we have not gotten tinier, that's for sure!).
The only one I haven't been on is Top Speed Dragster, because everytime we've gotten in line for it, it's rained.
The only one I don't care for is the Mean Streak. That wooden rollercoaster is so jerky, but it is one that Christopher will go on. I don't think they've changed the Gemini, but I do know they have changed the Blue Streak.
Angela will go on ANYTHING, and I think last summer, she and my brother rode the Magnum 3 or 4 times in a row.
Apparently, over the weekend, Top Thrill got a perfectly balanced load that got stuck at the top. I would pass out and have a HUGE panic attack had I been on it. The only coasters I haven't done are Top Thrill, Millenium Force, and Magnum now.
I skip Blue Streak & Mean Streak every time- Blue Streak cause it's just really wimpy, and jerky, and Mean Streak cause it hurts every muscle in my body to do that one.
Angela loves Millenium Force...it is a very smooth ride, though that first drop is something. Magnum is just an out and back coaster with a lot of BIG drops. I did ride it with the girls again last summer, but I think I'm just getting too old. LOL.
Awesome!
Ummm...you didn't even mention picking up the kids. You did it; didn't you? You left the bambinos right where you dropped them off and are thinking about leaving them ther permanently; aren't you? LOL!
ROFL- Not yet, actually! We pick them up tomorrow. ;)
It sounds like you had an awesome time! Glad you had the nice jacuzzi, I bet that really did help~
It helped a TON! Just having a tub that large to float in would have helped, let alone with the jets!
I am so glad you had a good time. I do not do roller coasters..YIKES!
I'm so glad to hear that you got to go! It's great that you had fun but a bummer that you had to endure a stinky room just to enjoy the jacuzzi. I'd complain too.
I scored big time at a Pepperidge Farm outlet a few years ago. They were moving their store to another location in the outlet center so they decided to mark everything down seriously low. We got Goldfish bags for $1 each, those awesome (and expensive) stick things with chocolate and other sweet stuff inside them (I forget what they are called) for only $1 and some bread for $1.50 each. Everything was so cheap and my only regret was that I only had $10 in cash on me.
Oh, the pirouette cookies are why I always stop when I find a Pepperidge Farm outlet. They were $2 today- Vanilla, Chocolate, and Cappucino flavors! I also got individual cookie packs- 2 large gold fish shaped graham cookies (chocolate or cinnamon) for $.10 each. I got 20 of them for $2!
We also got a large box of GOldfish for $1. They had cakes cheap ($1.50/ea), but we were still an hour from home, and they need to be kept frozen, so we passed. :(
Heather, those cookies sound delicious! I like anything "cappuccino" (or any other kind of coffee).
Mmmm...anything Pepperidge Farm is awesome! I would have eaten the cake...the whole cake, if I had to to get it home!! I'm crazy like that sometimes :D
wow that sounds like a busy but, fun weekend
That sounds like a fun weekend. I would love to go to an outlet mall. There's nothing close to me.
It sounds like you had an amazing time Heather, and what a great deal you got on that hotel room.
The Goodwill sounds just like our Goodwill...horrible overpriced.
Glad you had a great time.
Glad your back. I didn't realize you were on vacation, I was wondering why you were not posting, LOL.
How fun! I love Cedar Point! I'm glad you guys enjoyed yourselves!
It sounds like you had an AWSOME TIME!!!!!!!!! The room sounds great, but the smoke would drive me NUTS. Smoking or non-smoking room, I'd still send Walker outside to smoke. No sense in making it worse. If there might be an issue again somewhere, it might not be a bad idea to take some sticks of insense. I love insense, and if there's a smoke problem the smell really helps. Also, I have some scented candles in here that I really like. One Walker and I really like smells like the inside of a pie, or something, made with lots of butter in the recipe.
On that note, I'd better finish this comment, because Walker just brought a loaf of homemade hot bread in here with lots of butter, and I can't wait to try it.
Sounds like it was a lot of fun.
BTW, that overpriced Goodwill sounds like outs, I had no clue until I visited another one how overpriced ours is--well, I had some idea because I read about your finds all the time. Anyway, I asked a lady there about it and she said items are priced according to the annual household income of the area they are opened in. Figures.
That sucks! I'll know now to stick to poor Goodwills! ;)
Glad that you had a great trip!!! we love CP ~ although I will not ride the Mantis I did once and I hurt so bad afterwords I swore I would never ride it again. lol
Nick kept saying my legs would hurt, but I didn't feel any soreness afterwards.
sounds like a good trip
Glad you had a good time. We never get smoking rooms. I have athma and smoke is one of my triggers.
We've gotten stuck in them before, and never had a problem. Usually, it's not noticeable for me at all. This was just bad, though. I did write to the company and let them know how bad it was, and suggest that they make some of those rooms non-smoking, and gut them, repaint them, and steam everything in there to get the stench out.
They may let you have a free night stay for your inconvience.
I am a priority club member so we always reserve our rooms. I only get non smoking.
sounds like a fun fun trip!
