I just had lunch and a great walk around Boston with my friend, David, and took a few photos. We even joined the boat club and will be learning how to sail! Enjoy!
Hopefully, David and I will be in one of the boats in the background by this weekend!
First, we have to take Orientation, Rigging, and Shore School classes.

There's my T, the Red Line, in the background going across the Longfellow Bridge (or the salt and pepper bridge as some people call it because of the "shaker" looking towers).

The Esplanade near the sailing club

The Shell on the Esplanade where many summer concerts happen including The Boston Pops.

Swan Boat (the driver in the back peddles the paddles that move the boat. Now that's great exercise!)

Wonderful images, Jennifer! I hope you will post this to Gather Photographers and Photo Shop Artists Review!
Cool. From sailboat to Swan Boat.
I really should learn to sail, or at least learn the basics. There's a sailboat at the cottage in Canada we go to and I think my stepfather would thrilled if some of us took an interest in it (instead of the powerboat, kayaks and paddleboat). I've gone out on some sailing trips but felt mostly useless, not knowing what to do, how to help, or even some of the basic lingo.
These are great photos. Looks like you really had a good time. I am scared of water but I have always loved to watch sail boats on the lakes. They are so unique. Have fun learning to sail.
lovely, j!! i LOVE sailing and am glad you're getting into it! sounds fantastic! i think that boston in the summer must be too lovely.
It's great to see you will be sailing! My wife took the classes there and really enjoyed it. They also have a kayak rental area further down the river. It's weird that I have grown up in Massachusetts, yet have never sailed.
Nice - Boston is beautiful! Good for You! I would like to be on the water and sail - will be next week in fact, on the NZ America's Cup entry in Los Cabos.
I see you posted this to Gather Essential Travel. I posted my last article to that group and the Writing and Food Essentials also. Food & Travel still haven't been accepted. How did you get it to happen so quickly?
great pics! - hope your boating experience is lots of fun
I love this Jennifer! It really gives me the feeling that I'm there. Thanks
Wow, Jennifer these are great photos. It's been a long time since I've been to Boston and I'd love to go back some day.
Thanks for the photo tour - especially all the boats.
This is spotlighted in the Wednesday edition of Today On Gather
Congratulations!
I have only been to Boston once and it was years ago. You chose a wonderful section to have a walk. Congratulations on your spotlight.
This is very nice. I live in S.C. now but am from Maine and it was nice to see pieces of New England again.
Beautiful photos. Hope you enjoyed your day!
I love Boston and when I lived on Comm Ave near Fairfield, I ran from there to the MOS and back 6 days a week for a few years, then more toward Lexington on Concord for a few more years. I miss the BB and the Community Boating. (I am not a sailor by any means). But that area is really fab.
What a great essay, Jennifer.
