David and I don't go to the movies hardly at all any more. The expense is one reason but not the main reason. The biggest reason is because I can't sit for that long without having to visit the ladies room and I end up missing something. So we tend to wait until something comes to DVD or the one of the movies channels.
I purchased Wanted for David for Christmas this last year, but we hadn't watched it until today. I feel like I was ripped off. Of all the hype about movies and two of my favorite people (Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie), I was sorely disappointed.
I had expected an action pace couple of hours about how they would train a potential "assassin" and they they go after a mega bad guy. That's they way these movies usually work...Right? Oh hell now it wasn't like that at all.
First they create a character that is so lame it is almost painful... no it is painful. Then the whole plot turns upside down with one of the worst endings to a movie I've seen in ages .. (At them moment I can only think of one move with a worse ending).
The special effects were awesome, I'll give them that much. And some of the action was edge of the seat. However, as much as good action may make a movie, a good plot needs to be in there too. And this movie was definitely lacking a good plot.
A bit of trivia about Wanted courtesy of IMDB:
- Wanted is based on a comic book (who woulda guessed LOL)
- Angelina say she based her role in the film on any number of Clint Eastwood characters (I think she failed).
If you haven't seen this movie don't bother... you'll probably be disappointed. If you have seen this movie, I'd like to know what your thoughts are on the film.
