24th May 1941. One of the most prophetic poets of our times is 68 today! Happy Birthday Bob Dylan! You might pay attention to the words if you are not familiar with the song!

Thanks for sharing this.
I have been listening to Dylan a good part of the day, after The Beatles Breakfast Show! LOL
What an amazing poet. I remember his first album with him in the sheepskin coat on the cover (I was a little one then). This is a great one Georgie! Here again I cannot choose really, there are so many.
This seemed a good choice for a birthday!
Another bit of trivia. The "Freewheelin'" album cover you mention, this song is on it, but the woman with him became his wife, "...You know, you know about my debutante..." from "Visions of Johanna" off Blonde on Blonde
Oh Georgie, not questioning your choice. It was perfect! Just remembering. My parent's had that record (yeah kitties it was vinyl) and I loved it! I was a little heart broken when he turned his back on us, but he will always be Robert Zimmerman to me.
He didn't turn his back, they are playing some of his new release on CSUN radio. Great Sunday show. dylan hour, on now!

He has a nice laugh.
that's is so cool Chana! After I hit the submit button that song came on and I pictured you turning on the station just as he laughed!
I am listening now with the tombstone blues Georgie!
This station, on Sunday, is great. Starting at about 10am it is Beatles, then the Red Hot (salacious blues and so forth) and then Tangled Roots, eclectic mix of country and folk, and then the dylan hour!
REAL talent there.... thanks for letting us know it was his birthday!
Wow! 68! Time sure does fly! He is going to be in concert with Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp this summer. Wish I could afford to go!
You can probably get reasonable seats! It is well worth the honour!

thanks for the memories
LM, love it. I feel tangled up in blue myself sometimes.
that is a great one too!
I find that no matter what is going on in my life, mind, etc. Dylan has a song which addresses it!
thank you for sharing
Forever Young He was an icon of our time, especially during the Viet Nam war.
libramoon, thank you. Bllod on the Tracks was di rigour listening once a day, along with Fleetwood Mac "Rumours" once summer in London for me!
yes, Debra, Forever Young, and so are we!
Viet Nam, now, little difference!
I knew a man, his brain was so small,
He couldn't think of nothing at all.
He's not the same as you and me.
He doesn't dig poetry. He's so unhip that
When you say Dylan, he thinks you're talking about Dylan Thomas,
Whoever he was.
The man ain't got no culture,
But it's alright, ma,
Everybody must get stoned.
yeah!
He is older than me. I sure didnt know that.
Dylan rocks.
I just got Peter Paul and Mary's album (yes, the vinyl) In the Wind, mainly because Dylan wrote the liner notes and they are the best liner notes I ever read. I adore Dylan. I saw him in the early 80's, during his born-again period. He was surprisingly talkative and friendly, and very small. I never realized that until then.
Yes, little Bobby!
LOL
i like vinyl, the sundis richer. I love the liver notes on "Highway 61 Revisited" He describes his voice as "no so much singing as an exercise in tonal voice control"! Something like that. I'd get up and get the LP but I would then get way-laid and wander back to the computer tomorrow! LOL
Dylan is 68!! I did not want to know that...makes me feel old...older, that is. Sigh. Great video. Nobody does Dylan like Dylan.
Thanks for posting to Fugitives from Ignorance, Conformity, and Peer Pressure
68 and doing great!
Dylan is super-cool
