Yes, though she has been gone 10 years, I still enjoy having lunch with her. She loved Subway. I was mad when I saw that we could not see her gravestone at first. We pulled the weeds and grass by it. An older gentleman stopped and told me how sweet he thought it was. He said he hopes his kids do the same when he passes. If they don't, I will.

I am so tired. It has been a long day. Tommorrw we go to my father's. He liked Mc Donalds.
That is great you are taking care of your mother's grave like you are! Have you talked to the cemetary's caretakers about the weeds around her grave?
Aww what a sweet idea.
All the stones there are flat. I go every so often to care for it. They just mow right over them.
The cemeteries I went to were nice and tidy, the caretakers have done a good job.
That's my only regret in mom's wish to be creamated. I can't do that.
A really nice idea!
Awww!!! You have a sweet heart, Diane!
What a good daughter you are! Very nice
Diane: What a wonderful tribute to your Mother, and a fabulous way of celebrating her life and the things she enjoyed. As I flipped through each of the photos, I could feel a sense of deep love and admiration for your dear Mother. Thanks for sharing this deeply personal part of your life. 10. Tim
My mom does that too on holidays, goes to my grandparent's graves and puts flowers on them. Nice tribute and flowers.
That is really sweet. I go back to South Carolina at least twice a year to take care of my parents' graves and make sure they have flowers, as well as to put gravel on the graves of one grandmother, one grandfather, two uncles, and an aunt who don't get visited as much because that side of the family has died out or moved away.
What a wonderful thing for you to do! I really enjoyed all of your photos.
What a nice way to spend the day. Tell your dad Hi for me.
very nice of you to do this
Lovely tribute to your mom. Whenever I visit my grandparents resting place I am always amazed at the sense of peace that surrounds me.
Great tribute to your mother.
Very nice way to spend Memorial Day
Your Mom must be smiling.
Thanks, all. I miss her so much.
You have a nice profile.
Very sweet of you to still spend time with your mom.
Awwww, how sweet, I'm glad you had nice weather for your picnic with your mom.
Thanks so much, you all. I need to nap a while, then i will be back on. I did alot today. Weeded the garden too.
i used to go sit at my memaw's grave in between classes at college to study or just relax... the cemetery was right near my college, and i really enjoyed being out there with her in the quiet of nature. :)
Bless your heart, you did such a loveing thing by doing that. You must know how proud your Mother would be of you. ((((HUGS))))
Thanks for posting on Getting to 3000 Together
I am very glad there are people like you Diane. My father would be 97 tomorrow and my sister is going to have to leave flowers on his grave as I am 3,200 miles away from it.
My father was a World War II veteran. Never forget those who gave themselves for our freedoms!
I'm sure your Mom is smiling down on you and she enjoys your visits as much as you do.Tell your Father hello and have a great visit with him, next time you get to yours Moms place of rest tell her hello from me.Happy Memorial day!!
Have a great gather day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for posting to sparealine.gather.com
that was a awesome thing to do and i know your mother is looking down with a big smile on her face and you know she is proud of you
I used to live close to the town where my grandparents were buried so I would make the trip every couple of months as my Mom couldn't go that often. I would then go to my great aunts and uncles and do to theirs what you had to. It's so sad that not all cemeteries take care of the headstones, plots, etc. The one I went to was neatly trimmed, but my great uncles and aunts had weeds growing all over and covering their ground level head stones. I eventually plants bulbs around all of theirs so that even if I couldn't get there, then I knew that some flowers would be growing there.
God Bless!
I hope she's met my grandmother up there
You are a real sweetheart, Diane.
glad you had a good time
That is a good idea.
that's so sweet to remember your mother & father.
