There are several lines to the Long Island Railroad. The central line goes all the way to Greenport, but the electric tracks stop at Ronkonkoma. For this reason, and because there are at best only a couple of trains per day from Ronkonkoma to Greenport while there is always at least one train every hour from Ronkonkoma, even on weekends (except for around the 1AM timeframe), we always drive to Ronkonkoma and take the train to Penn Station whenever we have to go to Lincoln Center. From there we take the "1" subway from 32nd street to 66th street where Lincoln Center is located.

So sit back and relax because here comes the train!

Since spring is in full bloom there's not much to see from the train but trees. As you can see, when you have seen one station, you have seen them all. Once you get closer into the city the tracks start to combine into Jamaica and you start seeing the switch houses.

Finally you enter the tunnel to go into Manhattan; next stop; Penn Station! Hope you enjoyed the ride!
