If your company is thinking about doing a custom notepad printing, congratulations! Notepads can be used for a variety of purposes. You can use them for intercompany communications and for note taking. You can use them to maintain a consistent appearance in your company's paper items. You can even use them as advertising materials by handing them out to potential customers.
However, before you design and print notepads, be sure to avoid some of the common mistakes that companies make. Here are a few of them:
Notepad Printing Mistake Number One: Getting too Crazy in the Design
With notepads (as in many things in life) it is usually better to keep it simple. All you really need on your notepads is your letterhead (usually your logo) and a watermark. You can add some other elements if you want to, but there really is no need to go all crazy and add all kinds of neat looking items or images. Doing so just adds to the cost involved in getting your notepads printed. If you are planning on using your notepads for company use only, you want to save costs as much as possible.
Notepad Printing Mistake Number Two: Wrong Size Notepads
You will have to decide how large or small you want your custom notepads to be. If you are going to hand them out to customers, you will probably want them to be rather small. In that case, they will be serving their purpose just by being in the customer's hands and showing your logo. Of course, they will have to be large enough to be useful to the customer, but that is the only requirement. Conversely, if they will be used within your company, you will probably want them to be larger. Standard notebook size is usually a safe way to go here. That is large enough to allow your employees to use them for all of their note taking needs, but not so large as to be bulky and a nuisance.
Notepad Printing Mistake Number Three: Color Overload
If you design your notepads yourself, it can be easy to get a little carried away. It is fun to throw in a bunch of different colors to make your notepads look as bright and attractive as possible. But just as we said in mistake number one, you will usually want to stay on the simple (and cheap) side when it comes to notepad printing. The more colors you use, the more expensive it will be to print your notepads.
Notepad Printing Mistake Number Four: Poor Quality
Of course, it is also possible for you to save too much money by using poor quality materials in the printing of your notepads. If you are going to have your employees use your notepads, then you want to make sure they are of good enough quality that they will actually want to use them. They have to be durable and, if using adhesives, have to be able to stick to materials easily. If you are handing them out to customers, you want them to be impressive enough to, well, make an impression.
If you keep these common notepad printing mistakes in mind, you should be fine.
