I planted about 8 Gerbera Daisies last season. In the end all were eventually destroyed by slugs and snails, even after trying beer and snail bait. So I decided I won't plant them again.

Since they are my all-time favorite flower, I always shoot photos of them wherever I happen to see them. This includes visiting Lowes, Walmart and Home Depot and shooting them as their flower shipments arrive.

I got lucky yesterday and Lowes had gotten a huge shipment of all kinds of exotic flowers.

I had never seen Lolipop Gerberas before, but witnessing blooms that were anywhere from 6" to 8" across was amazing. They were huge! Because I shoot macro much of the time, you wouldn't know how large most of these blooms were without me telling you.

Hope you enjoyed viewing these beauties.

Aren't they just the prettiest things? Good shots, Marianne.

These are beautiful, so many pretty colors. Excellent photos.
I love Gerber Daisies and those are beautiful.
Those are outstanding. What gorgeous color and variety.
Marianne - this was wonderful to see - love to see pretty daisies - thanks! I always plant an extra row of garlic around my flowers - it helps! Salud
They're my all time favorite, too...maybe you'll have more luck in SC!
neat pictures
Apparently, it's time for me to go through your recent photos again... These are beautiful, but I need to have more time to spend on them so I'll be back. :)
Beautiful shots. These were my grandmothers favorite flowers and one of my favorites to photograph.
Thank you for posting your photo at Pretty Pictures.
Beautiful M....of course, the yellow ones are my fave!!!! LOL
I have tried beer bait too. No luck.
I use Slug Getta (I think it's called) and it keeps slugs out of my hosta.
These are one of the prettiest daisies.
What an amazing group of shots! I can't believe thesse are the NON- Gallery shots! Can't wait for your gallery!
Carol B. said it all.
I was just amazed the first time I saw the lollipop gerberas. They are now my absolute favorites. I hope the snails don't eat mine. Pretty shots.
They are all beautiful Marianne...
Maybe you'll be able to plant them once you get to your new house.
Beautiful flowers!
Marianne these are all stunning, and you really know how to capture the beauty.
They are all so beautiful Marianne I hope you might be able to grow some in your new location. They should do well in pots as well.
Most of them were in pots here in GA last year. So we'll see. They're kind of expensive.
They are a very beautiful flower - great photos! Sorry the slugs and snails got your flowers!
Marianne,
A really super Gerbera ,photo essay.
I'm sorry they were all destroyed, because they look really lovely.
very pretty
As usual, absolutely beautiful shots, Marianne!
love the multi colored ones seen them at walmart went back to get some the next day and they were gone :( beautiful shots
You take such beautiful flower shots. Wow.
all the photos are breath taking... The colors are so vivid and flowers are just amazing..
Fantastic macros, Marianne. You always do such an amazing job.
BTW - I love the first one best - the pink and white is gorgeous, but it's hard to pick a favorite.
Gorgeous shots!
Love Gerbera Daisies too. :)
My favorite is that white and purple one you captured brilliantly. What a shot, it is so beautiful, nice job. The rest are pretty as well but that one just stands out above the rest for me. I wish you could send it to me lol.
Let me just say that that bright orange one totally rocks!! Of course I'm a bit biased since orange is my favorite color. Hehe. I have some of these planted out in my flower garden too. Usually they don't last long because the kids pick them as fast as they can bloom. There have been a lot of slugs around here this year. There hasn't been in the past. Haley has been finding them all over the place. Luckily so far they haven't been near my garden or plants; just in random places in our yard. Strange.
Such gorgeous colors! I stuck with the less expensive plants this year- I am tired of feeding them to the deer.
Wow...I can see why these are your favorite flowers.
Gerbers are one of my favorite flowers to photograph. I have yet to see the really large ones. Great work!
Awesome shots, they are all beautiful
These are also my all time favorite flower! I love those lollipop ones and saw them at Lowes, but they wanted like $26 for a pot of them, so I passed it up. I would love to grow them here... they are bulb flowers, right? Gorgeous, simply gorgeous!
Gorgeous daisies. Thanks for sharing this with my group Flower Fanatics!
I love these
thanks for posting to Photos in Bloom
