Why did Adam Lambert Lose?
I have read several blogs and articles that say it's because he's gay. Again, this hate. How about being happy for Kris Allen, and Adam Lambert is talented and will be fine, but to point out this difference just causes more splits. If those making such arguments want acceptance of all people, why do they make such hateful assumptions?
Congratulations to both Kris Allen, and Adam Lambert! Kris Allen won, and that's wonderful.
I was shocked at the number of articles about Adam being gay. Adam is a human being who was voted off. Maybe their is a problem with allowing uncontrolled voting on American Idol, but that's another issue. To not wish Kris Allen well is just hateful.
Here's an example of an article and the hateful comments from Adam Lambert's fans.

I just liked Kris Allen better cause of his voice.....even though I don't usually watch "American Idol."
I was telling my daughter that until they make it so its one vote per phone # or comp IP, it will be just who has the most fans with the most cell phones.
Carol..... they are BOTH AWESOME singers. Adam is so different than any other with that almost haunting voice. Gay or Not gay didn't cost him the #1 spot.Kris got the YOUNG vote, and I mean Young..... 10,11,12 year olds went NUTS for him and they CAN text votes, lots of them. If we truely voted for very best, it would have been Adam, then Kris. At this point, it does not matter, as I'm sure we will still see Adam 30 years from now. And hopefully, Kris too. it was Great when they did a DUO, each enhanching the other.
I'm not sure about that. My daughter and her friends were all terribly disappointed over Kris winning, and they are tweens.
I don't watch idol, although I did see the final last night and the person who one seems to have a very nice voice, I did not hear the other one sing though
Why does it HAVE to be about sexual preference?
Maybe people just liked the other dudes voice and performance better.
Imagine that.
I was surprised with how the judges loved Adam, but Kevin didn't get to where he was without a following. Yeah, for both.
Absolutely, John.
I don't follow the show.
I voted for Kris anyway.
Just think, a little ole boy from a little old state, like Arkansas, won the Idol competition this year!!!! It was meant to be! I would not have wanted to be judging this contest, because everyone of the top 13 can sing. I hope they all have careers and do well.
I don't think its because he's gay - I think its because a lot of young girls vote and if you look at the two together, Adam is sort of scary and Kris is cool and clean.
I think they are both great. Adam is already a well know theater person and will continue to grow in his art with or without Idol. This is a chance of a lifetime for Kris.
They both win. They will both be stars.
Much had to do with charm, lovableness, and looks.
I don't watch American Idol, but my daughter is a huge fan.
Although I don't want, I still doubt that his being gay had anything to do with him not winning... if his sexuality was such a large issue, how did he make it to final two?
"Although I don't want"=Although I don't watch.
Now if Gather could give us an edit button.
I thought that Adam was a very good singer. I just didn't like that loud whine that he put in most of his songs. If he would have just sang with his wonderful voice than I think he would have been better. As far a being gay, if he is or isn't shouldn't have an affect on the judgement of his singing. Congrats to Kris Allen for winning.
I liked them both, but I knew Kris would win because I knew he could swing Danny's voters better than Adam could.
Oh well...congrats to both.
I don't watch it so I really can not tell you which one was a better singer. I am sure that they will both do fine in the future.
I didn't watch but everyone said Adam was a for sure thing. This wouldn't be the first time I've thought the finale was rigged.
I don't watch American Idol but I have heard comments like the ones you mentioned. I don't know anything about the contestants but I think it's sad to say that if a person voted for Kris it was because Adam is gay (which I don't even know is true). I say we should congratulate both guys and watch for what is to come from both.
Adam is a great talent, but I guess people wanted the boy next door.
They're both winners. I had hoped Adam would win, but he'll do fine and I don't want to disrespect Chris. Congrats to them both!
I am very happy for Kris, although I voted for Adam. It seems to me that the one who gets second place usually does much better than the person who actually won. Except maybe for Carrie Underwood. I'm happy for both of them, they did a great job and should be proud.
I don't think that Adam lost because of rumors that he is "gay". I think he may have been over the top, and too theatrical in his performances, and he wailed during his songs, so that's what probably did it for him. But that doesn't really matter, as what really matters is his career after Idol and he is sure set for life. He is gonna sell out stadiums and break record sales, and he will be a musical icon. He is a true artist. His vocal range is astonishing, and amazing, and I love the theatrical side of him. Every performance he did on Idol was far beyond anything we'd expect. He was always unpredictable in terms of what he would do and what his performances would be. And that always kept us on the edge of our seats. He didn't just sing his songs every week, he entertained us. Every performance had a concert feel to it rather than a competition feel, and that made him stand out. His performances were unforgettable and so was his style. So what if he wears eye liner and colors his nails, there is nothing wrong with that. It actually gives him a style all his own that other Idols can't pull off. He may have lost the official Idol title, but he is a CLEAR WINNER! and that's all that matters.
Kris Allen is a winner too. He deserves the title just as much as Adam. He has been consistent every week, even stepping it up each time. He was true to himself (just like Adam) throughout the whole competition, and he knows the kind of artist he is, and he showed us that every week. His is really talented. Not only can he sing the heart out of a song, but he also plays the accoustic guitar, the electric guitar, the keyboard, and the piano, and all while singing. That is true talent right there. He touches everyone with his performances and they are always enjoyable. He is a very likeable guy and he will have a bright career ahead of him. Whoever said he was BORING was wrong. He is so not the boring performer. You don't have to be over the top or always belt out songs to entertain others, and create enjoyable performances. And he nailed that right on the money. Way to go Kris!
At first I liked both Kris and Adam but at the show went on I got tired of hearing the judges praising Adam and I liked Kris's voice better he seemed more mellow sounding. So i am very happy with the outcome and all of my votes went to Kris
i liked chris with adam i didnt like the screeching he did of course my favorite of all was danny
I loved Kris from the beginning and I'm happy he won. This had nothing to do with sexuality. I don't like screaming singers.
Oh, and my husband even had his first "man crush" on Adam Lambert --- did I mention we are very conservative? So, if HE can see past the sexual preference and just see Adam's talent --- anyone can!
Adam's loss follows a typical formula on AI, where the better artist comes in second. Adam Lambert will probably be the biggest artist ever to have been on the show. As he said on Oprah, "I got what I wanted out of it." He knows that he was better off, contractually, by not winning. He will get a better contract on the free market, than the "prize" contract for winning the "Idol" competition.
Adam's debut single just dropped, and we listened to it like 20 times tonight. It's a nice "teaser" for what should be a great debut disc. This guy is a professional entertainer, with a grand vision. That's what set him apart on AI, and will serve him well in the future.
I wish Kris well, but he's not going to generate anywhere near the buzz that Adam has. As for the "anti-gay" stuff, he's actually bi-sexual. He dates women, but has a steady boyfriend. I like this, because it exposes an "inconvenient truth." Many gay men are sexually into women, as well. He's following a long line of rock stars, who had to hide their sexuality for much of their careers, but "came out," or were exposed. Adam's "getting it out there" before his debut disc, so we'll see if it matters.
