I won't be home for this chat and it's one that I'd really love to be part of. I have to go get my paycheck when my husband gets home, then go cash it, run errands and get back here to work by 7pm(10pm eastern). Here are my thoughts:
* Who's better? Adam Lambert or Kris Allen? Kris Allen is better, but Adam will win the popularity contest.

* What was the best performance of the season? The best performance of the season was Danny in country week
* Who was the worst contestant? Wost Contestant was Megan.. I didn't enjoy her at all. Her performances were boring, although she does have an original sound.
* Who was shut out of the competition too early? Alison left a couple weeks too early. Personally I think she has more talent that Adam or Kris. I would have liked to see her and Danny in the finale.
* How did this season compare to past seasons? This season was awesome. It was way better than last year.
* What do you think of the musical performances by tonight's special guests? I'm excited to watch the entire thing. Some performers I'd rather skip through but I always watch the entire finale whether I like the performer or not. I'm sure we're all in for some great surprises.
* Will all four "American Idol" judges be back next season? I'm on the fence on this one. I'm hoping that it goes back to just Randy, Paula and Simon. Adding Kara in there takes away from having a guest judge, I enjoyed that more because the contestants got more constructive criticism and positive feedback from the guest judges.

I wonder who will participate in a chat about American Idol rather that watch it. I think it would make more sense for this chat to occur BEFORE the show, not during, unless people use laptops so they can watch TV and chat at the same time. I guess that makes sense, then. But I have a desktop in the other room.

Bridget, that's a good point. The West Coast doesn't get American Idol live? I lived in California until a couple years ago, but I didn't watch it there.

Yeah! I'll drop in. I have a lot of opinions on this. As for being a spoiler for the west coast, it is...but if you go anywhere else on the internet you're going to be able to find out who won anyway. Not to mention other people and I are probably planning on blogging about it on Gather directly after the show.
Ack! I've never watched it, oh well. Next show maybe? :)

I saw very little of the season but when i saw adam do the smokey robinson song I told my husband that was "the moment" like when Fantasia did Summertime. I liked his Johnny Cash rendition too

How in the heck does it not appear live on the west coast? The whole thing takes place on the west coast! For that matter, if not everyone sees the show at the same time, how did the time limit on voting work?

I'll be watching so won't be in chat till after it's over. I can tell you right now, it should have been Adam and Danny. Also Allison should have been 3rd to go. Kris, while good, should have been gone 3 weeks ago.

Megan was absolutely the worst this season. I can't believe she lasted as long as she did. She was awful!

This season was better than any other, however, the final showdown show last night was utterly boring. They really needed Danny in the final 2.

I want Adam to win. He is clearly the best entertainer and I've always been a glam rocker chick at heart!

As far as the show... get to the results I could care less about the two hours of FILLER CRAP... I'd rather see Adam and Cris sing a couple more rounds of songs than what they have going on... bored to tears here!

Can you imagine how pre show planning went:
*AI Producer*: Adam you get to sing with Kiss. . . Kris. . . you get. . . . Keith Urban.

You think they'd have gotten the poor guy at least someone on the same level of Music God as Kiss (maybe Garth brooks , Brooks & Dun? Heck I don't know anything about country lol)

If Adam doesn't win something is seriously wrong.

Exactly how I felt too Heather... This glam rocker chick (if only at heart) is devastated!  I will never believe that AMERICA picked Kris over Adam... especially since everyone had problems getting through to vote.  That's okay though... we'll see how album sales go!

I am so unbelievably mad. The only good thing is at least Adam won't be stuck with that crap tastic song that Kara wrote.

And he will be free to pursue his own goals. Mark my words, no one will know who Kris is in a year, Adam will have so many deals open for him right after this.
