Downtown Minneapolis. There it is, the very tall one in the middle.

It was built in the 80s as a Norwest Bank

It's all Italian marble. The elevators are to the right.

A detail of two of many lights, from the second floor

Wells Fargo bought up Norwest in the 90s. Here's one antique stagecoach on display (the second floor has a free Wild West museum, also).

A glowing golden cathedral to our modern God.

The first floor tellers.

Well said. Can I see a pic of the CEO's golden toilet, too?
As to banks and economic crisis, I think we're being brainwashed again. We have two new banks going up two blocks from each other here, well in Bozeman Montana. And hey, what's up with raising the price of can goods to a dollar (Del Monte) well .97 here as tourist season opens?????????? What kind of people would do that with so many unemployed and an economic crisis going on? Doesn't anyone ponder what's really going on behind the facade?
Oops, sorry, PJ - I did enjoy the photo essay - I'm just fed up with the banks.
Still, we should be glad we've got one at all! It's located across from a bar, next to another bar and the only trading post in town - go figure!
My town is so small...
how small is it?
my town is so small that
we had to build the post office
out in the woods!
Here's how they fared in the recent bank stress test:
"The bank that fared worst in the test, by far, was Bank of America (BAC), which regulators said would have to come up with $33.9 billion within six months to stand up to the "more adverse" conditions. Next were Wells Fargo, told to raise $13.7 billion..."

You MUST be a white dude.
I go to a credit union. It's small, but they always have fresh flowers on display.
Yep, they went ALL out !!! No wonder Norwest went under (or away, or whatever happened to them).
So, that's where all your millions are.
Holy gorgeous bank. Jeez no wonder they are hurting for money.
Hey Peter, I'd like to feature your article - mind if I use one of the photos to draw attention to the link?
That is one crazy big building. What on earth do they need all of that space for? It's amazing inside.
That's what they do with your money, Im sure of it.
WoW! Look at all that marble! Cool photos Peter! I hate Wells Fargo! They bought our bank that had our house loan, and then lost it, we ended up in trouble because of their mistake! But I got it straighened out and paid off! I will never use them again!
