Chris had his doctor's appointment in GR today, followed by going to stay with his Grandma for a week up north. I'll write more about everything tomorrow, but here's the highlights:
Chris was given a doctor's note to excuse him from school for 3 weeks due to a medical condition. That means he's medically excused from school, while still being enrolled in school.
My dad fixed my van- it's been making an odd noise, and we've been smelling gas a bit over the past few days. Turns out, there was a bolt that came loose and went missing from the engine mount.
I got about 20 minutes north of my dad's place, saw cheap gas, stopped, and the van died.
Waited an hour for my dad to get there- he was going to pick up a trailer from his dad's place in case we couldn't get it running. Trailer hitch broke off.
We did not get the van running, so I have my step-mom's car for the week. Dad is going to tow the van tomorrow. My guess is that when he was under it, he wiggled something loose.
Got Chris dropped off at his grandma's for the week.
Left home at 10:20am. Arrived home at 11:58pm.
I'm exhausted!
But, all things considered, this has been, by far, the least stressful day I've had in almost a week.

Bummer about your van...hopefully your dad can get it fixed before your big camping trip!

It's good that you got the medical excuse. That makes things a lot easier.
How was Chris doing in regards to behavior yesterday?
Chris was a lot better yesterday. Being at the school just fuels the fire of stress he has, and the stress triggers the out bursts and melt downs. When he's with us somewhere that makes him feel stressed, we get the same reaction. He was very antsy by the time we got him to Grandma's at 10pm last night.
I walked in, told her he was hyped up, and that it might be a while before he's ready for bed. She said, "Oh, is there anything I can do to calm him down? How about chocolate, would he like some chocolate?"
I just blinked a few times, and wished her the best of luck. ;)
I'm glad you can get the little break.
As much as these children love us, they really do wear us out!
