Megan McCain and Stephen Colbert

I just watched the Colbert Report from last night.  What an amazingly inteligent young lady.  I think if the Republica party got behind HER and HER ideals they may actually have a shot in the future to win the young vote and get some BIpartisian work done.  They need to stop letting the extremists hijack their party.  Extremists on ANY subject are dangerous.  I was very impressed with her and think that she could pull the GOP out of the gutter and make into something that works for ALL Americans, not just the wealthy, old, white guys who could care less about the rest of us.

Who are the extremists that have hijacked the Republican party?

You couldn't get more moderate than John McCain, if the extreme right had hijacked the party we wouldn't have seen some one so moderate get the nomination.

If the GOP is to remain viable, it does need to be more moderate --- and the Democrats need to understand that the far left is not a position to hold all the time either (Obama appears to be understanding that quickly). Megan McCain is articulate and seems more pragmatic in her views than most of the more vocal people in her party. I agree -- the GOP would do well to take her seriously.

Yeah, well... The "Old White Guys" that Luvly Dotter mentioned almost killed his campaign, until they abruptly realized that Obama was running away with everything. Then they threw all the money in his direction. Of course, then they promptly screwed any chance he had by tossing Palin up there with him.

Your party has not only been hijacked by right-wing extremists, they're schitzo about it.
I thought she was a sad, little shill for Daddy's party.

Your suggestion that the extremists have taken over the Republican party is a joke.

As a matter of Fact if the Republicans want to be successful in winning future elections they will need to focus on highlighting their conservative values and NOT go in the direction they have been moving in which is more to the left.
