Are you my friend?

Are you my friend on Gather?  Do your respond to any of my posts or ping me? 

I know  that many of us have so many friends and groups, and our time is limited, that it is hard to respond to everyone.

However, if you request  my friendship, and you never at any time do this, why did you want to be friends?  You can remove me from your list.  I won't be hurt or mad.  But, to be a friend, and enjoy yourself here, it is my opinion that we try to stay in touch sometimes atleast.  Otherwise, why are we friends?

To my friends that are in touch, and try too, thank you for being my friend.  In the true sense of the word, "friend". 

God bless everyone, friends or not.  Enjoy your day, and have a wonderful fun  time here at Gather.

I think we all have friends that don't respond.
I feel the same way, Margieanne. I have many "friends" who requested to be my friend and then have never contacted me or commented on any of my posts since. I pretty much know who will comment on my posts and who won't. I may not get to all, but I try to comment on every post, picture, and video that comes across my friend feed, and I throw in some pings when I have the time. Otherwise, why be friends? Thanks for posting this.

It is hard if people have an unforseen emergency and gather is only a small part of their life! Can you take them off your freinds list?

Awwwww. I think you are lonely. LOL

Some people have so many people on their friends list that they find it difficult to say hello to all of them. Maybe you're right, maybe they should be deleted. I can't do it, if they request a friendship it means that they're interested even if they are busy. I'm busy during the week but not so much on the weekend and I try to say hello to as many as I can. Thanks for the reminder.

Oh, I discovered a few on my friends lists that are sort of mean spirited and I sometimes delete them. Life is too short to pay attention to mean people.

Hi Margieanne! Oh my gosh, you've removed 800 people? That's more than all the friends I have, but I just don't want that many, as I know my own limits.....LOL! Yes, I consider you a good friend, as I know that we "ping" each other and send messages back and forth.......
This is an excellent article.....I do agree, as there are some friends I have that I've never ever heard from....I guess some people maybe want the friends just for the "big" numbers.......oh well!!!
800? Oh my goodness. I have the hardest time trying to keep up with 200+. I know we're friends, so I'm really just coming by to say 'hey'. :-)

Yes, sadly to say, I've had to remove a few, mainly because they were always mean spirited and got downright nasty and vicious! Who needs friends like that, ya know?

I'm here, Margieanne! Of course, you already know that because we talk back and forth on a regular basis. I understand how you feel but the way I look at it is that you never know when one of those people who don't ping or comment will be impacted by what I say and I may make a true friend at that point. I just feel that if I hook up with people once, I'd like to leave the door open for God to use me to bless them at some point. That's just the way I look at it.

Want to hurt me, I always miss you, remember you as a person so close and who talks like a family member...
Don't even say that again dear, it hurts, you know how it feels when your wishes and prayers altogether showers me with blessings... You know when I need someone who really prays for me I just knock you for that...
Silly, I can feel and the same way you can... I have many best friends, who either remember me or not and keep in touch or not but I do and even I forget too... lol...

Of course we are. However, if someone asks me to be a friend and I comment on their posts/photos and they do not return I disconnect them. I cannot stand it when people collect "trophy friends" just to stockpile their friend list and then won't comment.

I can guarantee that of the over 400 people on my "friends" list, probably about 35-40 of them are the ones who comment/respond at all... ??? I do understand, in a way... I mean, I can't possibly comment on all of them on even a weekly basis, so I can't expect them to do the same. And, I really don't have time to go through my friends list and see who I should disconnect with so I generally only disconnect if I see something repeatedly being talked about that I either disagree with or that gets ugly. Usually only when the other person continually gets ugly with others. Pings... RARELY do I do pings. I'd rather comment in ways that help us both with points!

Margieanne, I try to comments on your posts when I can. I'm not much of a game player so I may not always participate at times. I don't have a lot of time for Gather and I'm not adding anymore to my friends list because I want to respond to the friends I have when I can. I know that everyone one of you are my friends. That is why you are on my friend list. I'm so happy to have each of you. You do not need to respond to my posts daily. I understand the time, situations, other things in life, and such. But, it is nice to sometimes get a ping or response. You all are perfect. But the other 800 were never ever really a friend. I never heard from them at all, so why carry them in the friend group.

I admit to being one of the worst connections on Gather. Due to limited time available to me each day, I can primarily only comment on content that relates to Gather problems, questions, etc. Occasionally I can make an appearance on other work, but that is very limited. Therefore, you may only see me around once in a while, but that doesn't mean that I don't read more content than I comment on. And, of course, if you ever need help or have a question I'm always only a click or two away.

Margieanne, I've been neglecting a few of my Gather friends lately and I am sorry. I've been trying to at least comment on one post from each connection a day. I haven't been able to find time to ping for a few weeks, as I'm sure you know. The weather is so nice and I've been trying to get out and take some photos and I've had a few doctors appointments. This is the time of year I get all my check-ups. I hope to catch up a little and maybe get back into the swing of things next week.
