People wonder why there is so much anger toward the gay community but this is one of the reasons. It's one thing for an adult to choose a particular lifestyle but it is a far different thing for a school to teach children this is an appropriate lifestyle. No matter where you stand on the issue, it is inappropriate for a school to decide a child's moral compass! Especially when their parents believe ihis is an abomination to God and they should have a right to teach their children right from wrong!
Schools lost the right to teach morality when they kicked God, prayer and the Bible out of the schools! They have no right to impose their beliefs on children! That is a parents' responsibility and right, not a school teacher's! And, definitely not the gay community's right!
I am so glad that Prop 8 passed and I think it's time to create a law to stop the gay community from forcing their lifestyle on the rest of us! I have no intention of ever accepting homosexuality as normal and there are a lot of others out here who believe the same. I know a lot of people who do not think that homosexuality is something you're born with. It's a choice on who to go to bed with.
I do not in any way hate anyone regardless of their choice but I do hate their willingness to force their lifestyle on the rest of us and attempt to take away my right to freedom of speech and religion! The gay community cannot force someone to agree with them.

I wasn't going to answer to your article. And another, we are not FORCING our gayness onto you. We just want to be left alone, live our lives and have the same rights as anyone else. How hard is that. I mean, you want rights, you want the right to be married, live a life you want to live. I guess thats ok, not us, huh. I'm sorry, but if you want hatred to stop, then you need to stop what your doing. Because, that is called hatred, and you keep spawing it.
That only means she is not really sure of her convictions.
Everyone has the freedom to choose and all options should be taught, then we will cull the haters of society from our habitat!
Schools cannot teach morality because they are not moral guardians, as much as they like to pretend that they are. Only parents have that right.
In CA parents do not have the freedom to choose to homeschool their children ane "separation of church and state" is not law. The CA supreme court has ruled, in the not so distant past, that religious teaching is an acceptable curriculum even when it goes beyond the basics and has the children engage in ritualistic activities.
Either way teaching sexuality to kindergarten students is way off the mark. Maybe if schools taught something worthwhile Americans would know what form of government was supposed to be guaranteed by the constitution.
This was a concept made popular by Kennedy because it was the only way he could get elected since there had never been a Catholic president before, and Catholics where not very well accepted in this country at the time.
Freedom ends when your freedom limits my freedom. My freedom ends where it encroaches upon your freedom. The concept of freedom in America is encapsulated in the constitution's guarantee of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness being defined as inalienable rights belonging to every citizen.
Where conflicts emerge in attempting to define where those limits lie, our democratic form of government gives the decision making power to the majority.
Our government has gone a muck in reversing the democratic process.
When gay people are in the majority and can honestly vote their concept of that lifestyle as the accepted norm, I will gladly sit down and keep my mouth shut or move to a place on the globe where I am not confronted by their lifestyle. Otherwise my liberty would be infringing upon their liberty.
I simply ask that they treat me with the same respect.
I remember blogging about this on MyLot....
Mooch
I agree that this should not be taugfht to kids in kindergarten, it should not be taught by untrained teachers in the first place. It should be taught about in biology class in Jr. High/High school when kids are old enough to understand and make choices on their own. It should be taught as an understanding to alternate lifestyles, as information only. NOt being forced on kids, but giving them information.
Also, freedom goes BOTH ways. You or anyone else are free to state that you disagree with a gay" lifestyle", or the idea that people are born gay; but that doesn't mean that gay people don't get the same rights as straight people either.
I never met a gay/lesbian try to convert me, but I met many people like you try to convert me.
When you can stand on your side of the fence and wave hi in a friendly matter, maybe others would wave back via the same.
If I can understand and respect your ways, why can you Not do the same with others.
Here is something You should understand:
Matt 7:2-5 "For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged [if we judge with an evil heart or dark intent, His judgment of us will reflect it; if we judge nobly with honesty and justice, His judgment of us will reflect that, too], and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you [if we use extremes or exaggerations or other ignoble means, our judgment will reflect it and judging with fairness and compassion will garner likewise in His judgment of us]. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye [point out his sins, "minor" in Jesus' example here] and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye [our own sins, even and especially those we will not admit, magnified by our selective blindness]? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' [tell him of his "minor" sins] when all the time there is a plank in your own eye [that there are greater or the same sins in our own lives which we do nothing about or think we are above]? You hypocrite* [pointing out the sins of others while by pretense thinking of ourselves as above sin], first take the plank out of your own eye [sincerely ask the Lord for forgiveness and learn and live the Truth and Light by His Word], and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye
God loves all. He doesn't hate gays, he doesn't hate parents who beat their children, He doesn't hate me when I get mad at my husband and want to throw a plate at him.
He hates anything that comes between us and him. Regardless of what that is. At some point, we have got to find a way to come together and live together in peace. That is what Jesus came to teach. He was ridiculed for that very thing. Hating our neighbor isn't going to get us anywhere.
Judging our neighbor, as Nellie said is against the Bible that I read every day. I don't want someone pointing a finger at me, and announcing every flaw to the world, so why would I want to do it to someone else.
My grandmother used to say you caught more flies with honey than sandpaper. This was usually after my mouth had gotten me into trouble once again.
I try not to force feed my religious views on anyone Nellie. Yes, I am a Christian. I am married to a Southern Baptist minister. I believe in the sanctity of marriage. What I don't believe in is bashing those who don't believe as I do. I appreciate those who do not bash me for mine.
