Question about Restaurant.com

I have been getting a lot of emails from this website about $25 restaurant coupon for $2-5 ..It seems like buying a gift card for restaurant for less than face value... Not sure how good this stuff is. Has anyone used this site and their coupons before ?

First of all, check what restaurants will actually take the gift cards in the area where you plan on using them. I was going to order some as Christmas gifts until I found out they could NOT be used ANYWHERE in the area of my recipient.
I checked other areas, it was very obscure restaurants that I have never heard of there too, so I did NOT buy any.

I've often wondered about these but when I looked into one time the restaurants were not any that we went too and I didn't even know most of them.

It is a legit site, but the restaurants that accept the gift certificates are limited and you usually have specific guidelines as to when you can use the gift certificates. If the restaurants are in your area and the guidelines fit, it is a great site to get some cheap meals.

I've bought them, they are legit but! This is not a gift certificate per se, you do not get a certificate that you can go in and use as if it is cash, it is a coupon with rules and restrictions applied. If it's somewhere you go and spend more than that anyway, then for you it's a deal. For me it wasn't, I didn't find value in them and wouldn't get them again

I know of people who have done this and it is legit. But, as others have stated, pay attention to the rules and which restaurants are listed. There is virtually nothing in my area. I think I had been given a free one once and we never redeemed it. You couldn't put 2 together, so it was only a discount and not a gift card. It wasn't worth it for me.

It is tricky and sometimes the restaurants don't want to accept them. Call ahead to the restaurant and verify terms and conditions for using Restaurant.com certificates before choosing one.

I bought some with the intention of using them for a Christmas gift but then discovered that unlike a normal gift certificate you use these like coupons and can only use one per visit.
