Wow, Ang that sounds like a horrible place. Isn't there some sort of agency you can report all of this too, even if it has to be the social services. I am sure a lot of parents would appreciate that the things were reported.

When I went to look at daycares for Roshane in New Jersey, I was seriously horrified with what I saw.

I thought they were mandated reporters for abuse? I would be glad to get out of there as well. It sounds like they need a new director.

In Oregon, daycare providers, teachers, foster parents and adoptive parents are mandatory reporters...
Wonder what would happen if you called the State Family Services...

I plan on calling after I leave. The owner is in her 70's and seriously delusional if she thinks that place is a good day care center.

Mandatory means nothing when so any ignore the problems. Hope you find something better.

I worked in child care for 6 years, and was frustrated by the things I saw. We had a teacher get mad and just walk out on a room of 14 4yr olds! Fortunately we saw her leaving, and were ble to get somebody in the room. You will find that in most cases, there is little Child protective with do for one incident. We had to document little things (no, I don't think they are little) like the parents being drunk picking up the kids, funny bruises, things they said and such for a month before they would do anything. We managed to get two children protected out of the 4 we had to initiate investigations. The other two played the system. One moved over the river to another state. He died a year later when he "ran" through a double pane sliding glass door. I have never gotten him out of my mind. The other one's parents lived in a different county, and pulled him out of our daycare the day CPS was coming to do something. They said they did so because he was starting school in a month and didn't need childcare in our county any more. CPS couldn't cross county lines. I was on break when his father showed up, and as he was taken to the car, he begged me to keep his father from taking him home. Childcare isn't easy when the daycare is decent and does everything it can to protect the children. That situation would be untenable to me as well! Hugs and Blessings! I'm glad you're getting out of there but what about the kids that go there? They need someone to speak up for them who has seen what's been going on! Those children are in danger!

They should be licensed. If so you can file a complaint with the health department and licensing board for the unsafe practices!!! Please call!

I would not be able to do that job - I would be on the phone to Children Services EVERY DAY

I don't see how you managed to stay there. I would have started calling every agency possible...child protective services, the police, the state licensing board, anyone that had an obligation to listen as soon as I saw such terrible things.

I'm glad you are leaving, but I do hope for the best for those children!

That sounds like a horrible daycare. I hope something is done about the way they are treating the kids and coming into work. Hope you can find something better.

Wow. Now that you're finished, I do think you may want to turn them in before a child gets hurt or killed.

Hopefully something comes of your phone calls.... it's this kind of place that taints all daycare centers

Yes, the child abuse hotlines, or some kind of hotline needs to be called on this place. I am glad you are leaving. It sounds like it would be stressful. I hope that you will please make those phone calls to ensure that those children have a voice.

I did tell a few of the parents what goes on in there while they're not there. I might not get my paycheck come monday but oh well. I know the owner and the director are glad to see me go because they know I don't put up with that crap.

I feel for my babies, I really do love them all but its so not worth it to me to be put in that bad position.
