How I long for another day
To see your face under the sun's rays
But alas that was not meant to be
Your memory is now all I can see
How I long to hear that voice
Hearing it would cause me to rejoice
Your honest feedback never led me astray
Your words are all I could read today
How I long for a happier ending
Than much pain and suffering until the ending
No one could replace your good guidance
Engaging debates and laughter now in silence.

Thank you Fran and Lawrence for your lovely feedback, I appreciate it!
You are quite engaging in your conversational directness to the reader. You describe each wonderfulmoment as no more. Your final line etches deep the sadness.
Thank you William! I wrote this about my late father, that passed away two years ago. There is just a gap there that no one can ever fill again, at least not in the same way.
My dad passed away in 1991. I loved and admired him. Although time has passed, I still miss him. I hope you & family are well.
I am so sorry for your loss William. I guess life must go on in spite of the missed family member huh? My family and I are ok, though Dad's presence is sorely missed. I hope you and your family are doing well too!
Beth this was a great article, so loving and yet the feeling of sadness being there too. I am thankful you shared with us that it was for your Father. Mine was my best friend.
It is amazing what a great friend a good father can be. Thank you for commenting Donald, I appreciate it!
awwww...this is such a nice tribute to your dad. I'm sure you miss him much....
Thank you Penni for saying so. I miss him terribly every day.
Mine has been gone from this plane since '79....I go for a walk once in awhile and feel just like he is walking with me...feels so peaceful....
I know what you mean Penni. It's amazing how we still feel so strongly connected to our fathers long after they are gone. I guess we will always have that with us throughout our lives. :-)
lovely Beth
