I've debated on posting this since I really am ashamed of most of what I chose to buy at the grocery store yesterday.
First let me say that Dillon's (Kroger) is having some awesome sales this week. Most don't have matching coupons, but still good prices. Oscar Mayer bologna is just .88 a package (printable coupons at kraft.com and coupons.com) Kroger bbq sauce is just .59 a bottle. Canned fruits are .88. Nerds and Gobstopper boxes are .68. (edited Gobstopper/Nerd price as they were only .68 , not .88!) Kroger brand soda 12 packs just $1.67. Chef Boyardee canned pasta .88. Nestle 8 pack candy bar minis. 88. Kroger frozen potatoes .99. There is a lot more but I can't find my ad already!
I spent $73.91. My receipt says I saved 45% between sales and coupons but I only used $7 in coupons.
I really am ashamed...I stocked up on the 12 packs of Kroger soda. I bought 9-12 packs! They are stashed under my bed and the kids and grandkids know I am not buying anymore for a month and must ask me before getting any. $1.67 on sale is a great price for the soda.
I got 3 bags of frozen french fries on sale for .99 each
I bought 11 packs of the Nestle candy bars for .88 each. I am now well stocked for my chocolate snack each day, and so is Jasmine.
I bought 16 boxes in combination of Nerds and Gobstoppers on sale for .88 each. (Edit! These were only .68, not .88!!)The majority of these are now in my gift stash tote. I have birthdays in June, July and August they will be used for part of the gifts.
I bought 6 packages of the Oscar Mayer bologna on sale for .88 each using 3-$1/2 coupons making them just .38 each. I then also bought 2 packs of the cotto salami for .88. Most of these are in the freezer.
I was able to print out 2 more of the $1 Kraft bbq sauce coupons so got 2 more of the bottles with 55% more free in them for just .08
I bought 7 cans of peaches, pears and fruit cocktail on sale for .88 and 4 small cans of mandarin oranges on sale for .44 each.
I bought my mom one each of Dan Active and Activia on sale and used $1 coupons on each.
I also bought myself a box of Cheez-Its on sale for $2.18, which is also part of my snack foods.
I bought 3 lbs of ground turkey which still has the $1.89 price on the shelf so once again I made them change the price down to the $1.89 from the $2.19 it rings up as.
It wasn't a total loss in shopping, and I am happy with what I got even though there was a lack of coupon savings. I guess saving the 45% with sales added makes it alright.

Ok, this is a big pet-peeve of mine, I cringe when the checker circles
the total on my receipt and then blurts out for everyone in line to hear
that I "saved some amount" by shopping at that store! Major irk!!!
I didn't save diddly squat! I just spent a big chunk of change for food!!
glad you found some deals on the things you like to eat
you can have my share of the Cheez-Its, the only thing
I like about them are the commercials, they are kind of cute.
Thanks for posting to Grocery Deals
