65 DAYS: Birthday Girl Musings

Hey Gathererererererererers!

This day is shaping up to be much better than yesterday.  I have the day off today for my birthday, and I am going to blissfully do NOTHING (or whatever I feel like, gosh)!

I spent the morning at the Health Department.  FUN!  ...NOT!  I absolutely hate that place.  I will be so relieved when my health insurance kicks in come July.  I just had to do a short follow-up visit and get my BC pills today, but of course I ended up waiting for an hour in the waiting room with all of the Mexican children running around like crazy people!  LOL!  I don't have anything against Mexican people...  I mean, my grandfather and mother are Mexican (you'd never guess it by looking at me), but all those kids running around speaking Spanish...  I had no idea what they were talking about!

My mom and a few friends have already sent me happy birthday text messages.  My best friend is taking me out to Outback Steakhouse tonight (my favorite restaurant), and I have the day off to take a nap if I so wish to do so!

I haven't heard from hubby yet today, but I know in my heart that he is thinking about me.  I can't stop thinking about the list of 29 reasons why he loves me that he sent in his birthday card.  It was truly one of the best gifts I have ever received, and it was a MUCH needed reminder as to why I am sticking out this bid and going through all of this stress.  I just need to keep my eye on the prize.  In only 65 days (or less) I'll be back in his arms, and he can help me shoulder the burdens this life brings!  :)

Today is my Nannie's birthday, too, so I'm going to call her and wish her a happy day in a few minutes.  I think I'll go eat a snack and DO NOTHING on my day off from work.

Dad is doing much better, for those of you paying attention to my saga.  They found several "hot spots" when they took a PET scan the other day and also found that his calcium level was very high.  They admitted him to the hospital overnight so that he could get IV potassium to bring his calcium level back down.  The bad news is that tumors are usually the culprit when someone has really high calcium.  But, he won't find out what's really going on until Monday morning when he has his appointment with the doctor.  So, I'm sending good thoughts his way.  I hope it's something that they caught early enough to treat, and it won't be too life altering, if ya know what I mean.
