Frugal Living Is For Those Who are Not Ashamed Of Being Frugal

I found this really cool old book online. The Title is Frugal Housewife Dedicated to those who are not ashamed of economy. The actual book does not start until page 9 of the PDF download.

This is a really cool book and it uses language like they did years ago. They even spell words differently. I enjoyed reading it.  Some of the things the author stresses is:

Time Is Money

Suggests that children are taught to weave their own hats to wear while outside.

Suggests making feather fans made from turkey and geese feather.

If you have time, you will enjoy this book. It is free to download.

The author states that she writes for the poor.

As I was reading this book I could hear my Grandma and Grandpa saying these things. This book has wonderful counsel for living frugal. It tells you how to cook, sew and live frugally.   I wonder if we have forgotten what it is like to live in a frugal manner.

Somewhere on one of my old disk drives, I have an OLD cookbook, published in Russia, with recipes for "The New Wife". These are very tasty and inexpensive. As soon as I find the file, I'll translate it and make it available to Gatherites.

Thanks Connie, you always have the best ways to live with less money. I guess the only thing I would hate to give up is my internet. Now that most of my friends live in my computer. We do talk on the phone, send gifts of love when we can. But most of our talking is on gather.

"The Richest Man in Babylon" is a great book  about money. I have found that when you help more than family and close friends,you make God happy, and God gives you more than you need.  I love giving to whoever I wish.
